Riverdale Recap 04/29/20: Season 4 Episode 18 "Chapter Seventy-Five: Lynchian"

Tonight on CW their drama Riverdale airs with an all-new Wednesday, April 29, 2020, season 4 episode 18 called, “Chapter Seventy-Five: Lynchian,” and we have your Riverdale recap below. On tonight’s Riverdale season 4 episode 18 as per the CW synopsis, “Jughead and Charles continue with their investigation as the latest videotape turns dark; Kevin, Reggie and Fangs’ business gets on the next level; Cheryl and Veronica’s business is threatened.

Hiram is in a great mood, he will be supplying rum for the Grande families’ chain of casinos. Veronica says she considered it but decided to invest in the college crowd.

Archie is thinking about a kiss with Betty while she is thinking about something she wrote in her diary about him when she was a little girl.

Veronica and Cheryl are together when some men show up and tell them that they are there to check out the competition. The leader says his name is Jason Malloy. He tells them that what is not funny is that they are cutting into their profits with their moonshine business. And one of their most lucrative markets is the college scene, they got wind of a new product that is eating into their customer base. He tells Veronica to pull her product. She tells him to go back to his boss and tell him that Veronica and Cheryl don’t back down. He says don’t say they didn’t warn him. The Malloys leave. Cheryl is nervous, Veronica tells her to relax, it is probably just her father that sent the men.

Jughead is looking at video surveillance, he thinks he may recognize someone on the video.

Archie goes to see Betty, she asks him why they are there. They are both lying down next two each, he says he loves Veronica but this is nice. Archie takes her hand.

Archie goes to visit his dad’s grave, he asks his dad what he should do, he has no idea where his heart is pointed and he doesn’t want to hurt anyone. He confesses that he misses them a lot.

Jughead goes to see Ethel, he wants to talk to her about a couple of the creepy videotapes that she dropped off to the station. She says yes. Jughead says there was something on one of them. Someone dressed up as Betty, murdering someone dressed up as him with a rock. He asks her if she knows anything about it, she says no, she swears.

Betty is reading her diary again when they were young and Archie asked her to marry him. Betty is called to the principal’s office, she is given a photo for the yearbook since she volunteered to be an editor.

Jughead tells Charles about Ethel, but he doesn’t think she is involved in any of this.

Cheryl calls Veronica, they were invaded by the Malloys; she swears she is going to murder her father. Veronica goes to see her father, she tells him she was out all night cleaning up the Maple Club after he sent the Malloy hillbillies to crash it. He denies it, says he would never do business with them, they are ruthless and dangerous. She says if he didn’t do this then she doesn’t want him involved, this is her war and she will deal with it.

Betty is reading her diary again, thinking back to going over to Archie’s house, listening to music and holding hands. Archie shows up, he tells her that he can’t stop thinking about her, it’s impossible. She says she can’t stop thinking about him either. He asks her to meet him at the bunker, she says ok, but tomorrow night, they need time to think if this is what they really want.

Kevin and Fangs bring Reggie into their tickling video side hustle and Reggie convinces them to strike out on their own.

In trying to protect his daughter, Hiram beats and threatens one of the Malloys. When he goes to leave, the guy beats him up.

Betty reads in her diary where she said she hated Cheryl because she made Archie kiss her at school. Cheryl walks in and grabs Betty’s diary, she reads the part where she says she hated her in the day. They talk about Archie, Betty says she has been in love with him for ten years. Cheryl tells her that she and Jughead found each other, that is real.

Terry goes to see Kevin and tells him that he lied to him, he wasn’t getting out of the business, he was setting up shop. And, this is how they are going to solve the problem, he and his partners are going to give him 40% of their profits or he will never tickle anyone ever again.

Ethel closes her locker and Jughead is there. He has a video of him and his girlfriend having sex, without their consent at Stonewall Prep and Charles found it while searching her house. She says she got from a black-market swap in the back of the video store called the “Scarlet Suite.” She says there are a lot of tapes their, homemade stuff, some very dark.

Kevin tells Reggie to shut things down or they have to give Terry a cut. Reggie says he knows how to deal with Terry, set up a meeting.

Charlie and his crew, along with Jughead, go to the video store and search the area that Ethel told him about. Jughead finds a video of Clifford Blossom killing his son Jason Blossom.

Reggie meets with Terry and tells him that he gets nothing, and someone hurts any of his boys, they will see trouble. Terry says he is making a big mistake.

Cheryl tells Veronica that she wants out immediately. They shake hands and hug, Veronica says ok.

Principal Honey gets a disturbing call regarding tickling videos, Reggie, Kevin, and the rest of their friends get ratted out. He tells them to take down their degenerate website right away.

Archie and Betty are together, he plays a song for her. She tells him she loves Jughead and he loves Veronica. She says they just feel safe with each other, and they both don’t want to lose or hurt Veronica or Jughead, so this thing between them, it is just over.

Archie tells his mom that it is time to get serious about the naval academy, he is all in now and ready for a fresh start.

Betty is burning her diaries, her mother says they are precious memories. She convinces Betty to keep one of them.

David tells Holden that the Scarlet Suite is closed until further notice, the FBI raided him and confiscated all his contraband. Holden says it is probably for the best.

Veronica goes to her father to borrow money to buy Cheryl out of the Maple Claw. Veronica tells him that she feels like he turned over a new leaf. Little does she know that he murdered the head moonshiner of the Malloy family.

Betty and Jughead are together, Cheryl calls him, she just got sent another tape and wants him to go over. They both go over and watch the tape with Cheryl. It is a guy in a Jason Blossom mask taking a bullet to the head.
