The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Tanner Novlan will portray Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan starting Thursday, July 23. B&B has offered confirmation that Finn will be Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) new man, so that’s certainly exciting news. Novlan’s a good-looking guy who seems like he’ll have excellent onscreen chemistry with Wood.
All eyes will be on this sizzling new romance in the months ahead as we get to know Finn. Of course, whether this pairing succeeds or fails will depend on how well Novlan does in the role and what kind of writing he receives.
The Bold and the Beautiful doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to writing romances fans can root for.
Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) always had fantastic chem with Steffy, but all his flip-flopping turned many viewers against “Steam.” Since Liam has consistently waffled between Steffy and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), it made it tough to get on board with reunion after reunion. Who can get invested when it never lasts?
When Matthew Atkinson joined The Bold and the Beautiful as a Thomas Forrester recast, he proved he had talent as a leading man. However, B&B wasted the intense chemistry between Thomas and Hope by making him completely obsessed with her. They made a real “Thope” love story impossible – at least for right now.
Don’t even get us started on Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks), who’s played games with Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) heart far too many times! Wyatt’s just the latest Spencer waffler since Liam and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) are also known for their love interest bouncing.
It’d probably be unrealistic to think Finn will stay devoted to Steffy forever. This is a soap after all! Even so, The Bold and the Beautiful needs to go all in on a Steffy and Finn pairing for a while. If they want this to work, Finn needs to concentrate exclusively on Steffy.
It sounds like that’s indeed the plan since Novlan will be working mainly with Wood. Since Finn won’t be totally infatuated like Thomas was with Hope, that’s another important point. B&B’s hopefully got the building blocks for a solid, long-lasting relationship for Steffy.
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Steffy will meet Finn after she lands in the ER following a motorcycle crash. The doctor of love should fix Steffy right up and pave the way for the romance to come!
