The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Friday, January 10, reveal that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) watched in secret as Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) raced over to where Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) were standing by the cliff. She was livid that Liam was kissing Steffy after having proposed to her just last night.
Liam tried to explain that it wasn’t what Hope thought, and Steffy interjected that she had been the one to initiate the kiss. Hope didn’t want to hear it, and she openly wondered how they got to this point, where he went running back to Steffy.
Liam said that he still wanted to marry Hope and that nothing had changed. Hope lamented that she had come to talk about the ultimatum and to work something out, but then she saw the kiss.
Hope went on about how their family was reunited by Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) and that she wasn’t going to turn her back on him. Liam said that he heard her, but that she wasn’t hearing him regarding his concerns about Thomas.
Hope said that she loved Liam but that she’s a mother to Douglas now and that she wouldn’t abandon him…and that after seeing the kiss she’s more sure of that than ever.
Liam then recounted everything that Thomas had done, and he said that Thomas was trying to insinuate himself in their lives. Hope argued that Thomas was trying to be a better person, and Liam argued right back that Thomas was a psychopath.
They went back and forth about Thomas some more, and about Liam spending the night at Steffy’s. Liam noted that he slept on the couch with Kelly Spencer (Zoe Pennington).
But Hope insisted that the kiss she saw meant something and she said that Liam was still in love with Steffy. Liam admitted that he and Steffy shared a daughter and yes, he loved her.
Hope then said that she didn’t want to share Liam anymore, and that what keeps coming between them isn’t Thomas, it’s Steffy…which prompted a smile from Thomas, who was still watching in secret.
Hope said that she just couldn’t do this anymore, as much as she’ll always love Liam. Hope then took off, looking back at Liam and Steffy as she left. Thomas continued to watch, smiling, while Steffy attempted to comfort a distraught Liam.
Meanwhile, at Brooke Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) mansion, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) said that they needed to find a way to make their marriage work, and they agreed that their love for their children shouldn’t tear them apart. But Ridge pointed out that this would be difficult, since Brooke hated his son.
Ridge then lamented that Hope might actually cut ties to Douglas, and Brooke said that she might, and that Liam was likely putting a ring on Hope’s finger right now. Brooke filled in Ridge about Liam’s proposal and how Hope had rushed over to the cliff house to work things out with Liam.
Brooke and Ridge then proceeded to go back and forth about Thomas and their differing feelings about his healing and progress toward becoming a better person, with Brooke insisting that Thomas is just making everyone think that things are on the upswing.
Ridge again maintained that he believes in his son, and that maybe someday Brooke would see it and come back to him.
After more bickering about Thomas, Ridge said that he just wasn’t happy when he’s not with Brooke. Brooke wondered if Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) was still staying at the Forrester mansion, and Ridge admitted that she was, but he deflected talking about Shauna.
Ridge said that if he and Brooke don’t figure this out soon, it will be too late. They ended their conversation with a sad kiss and a hug.
