The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Kids Written Out for Now – B&B’s New Episodes Won’t Include Douglas, Beth, Kelly or Will

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that scripts had to be adjusted in preparation for filming new episodes. Now that B&B’s getting back in production, that means lots of safety protocols and doing what’s best to protect all actors involved. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, B&B Head Writer and Executive Producer Bradley Bell talked about how that affected their material.

Bell noted that plenty of scripts were already completed, but the writing team went back and changed a few things. For starters, scenes with large crowds are to be avoided as part of these safety protocols, so group scenes were removed. Instead, The Bold and the Beautiful will feature smaller scenes with just two to four people in them.

Some B&B fans may also be wondering how the show will deal with children. Kids have been a big part of The Bold and the Beautiful for a while now. Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) took center stage in many ways throughout his storyline with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).

Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez), Kelly Spencer (Collette and Avalon Gray), and Will Spencer (Finnegan George) have all been part of the action, too. Unfortunately, all the kiddos will have to stay out of the picture for the time being. Bell talked about eliminating the extra risk, which is a good idea under the circumstances.

“Some of the scenes where we had child actors, we’ve written them out for the time being, just for another level of security,” Bell explained. Of course, it should be easy to say Beth and Kelly are napping since they do plenty of that already!

Douglas can also be busy playing in the other room or hanging out with a friend offscreen. The same goes for Will, so B&B can roll with this.

The actors will also have to stand eight feet apart, so the show’s using some clever camerawork, blow-up dolls and even real-life spouses to mimic the effect of love scenes. Bell’s hoping the audience will be amazed by how realistic everything looks despite the added challenges.

As far as the pandemic goes, Bell noted that there may be a mention of it. However, it won’t be a big focus when it comes to the B&B’ storylines. “We’ve always been about providing escapism,” Bell said. He made it clear that he wants romance and drama to keep taking the lead. The news channels can handle the rest!

It’s fascinating to hear about all the changes that are going into putting the show back on the air. B&B fans are certainly eager to see new content, so we’ll give you updates once the next airdate’s locked in.
