The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Monday, March 16, reveal that everyone at the Forrester mansion decompressed in the wake of Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and Zoe Buckingham’s (Kiara Barnes) wedding fiasco. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) told Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) that he couldn’t get hold of Thomas on the phone, and Steffy said that she hoped Vinny Walker (Joe LoCicero) could track him down.
Meanwhile, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) talked with Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Quinn Forrester (Rena Sofer). He noted that someday Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) would be at the altar with a guy who truly wanted to be there with her. He gazed at Zoe across the room, and Zoe gazed back.
Elsewhere, Steffy told Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) that she was proud of him, and he replied that his dad was probably mad at him. Steffy told him that he had so many people to call family, and that they were all connected. She said that she loved Thomas and that one day he’d show the good side of himself, but until then Douglas had a mother to care for him.
Steffy looked at Hope and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and said that they were all a family and that she was happy for them. Meanwhile, across the room, Carter spoke with Zoe, who noted that nobody wants to get dumped at the altar.
Carter said it felt like Zoe is the one who did the dumping, and Zoe said that she was really hoping that Thomas’ feelings for her were real. Carter said that he was, too, for her sake, but that better days were ahead.
Ridge talked privately with Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and told her that he was sorry, and that she had kept telling him about Thomas and he didn’t listen. He asked for Brooke’s forgiveness, and they hugged.
Elsewhere, Hope came back downstairs, having changed out of her wedding gown, and talked with Steffy, Liam, and Douglas. Hope and Liam thanked Steffy for what she said to Douglas earlier.
Hope, Liam, and Steffy vowed to be a close-knit blended family, with Douglas chiming in that he wanted Kelly Spencer (Colette and Avalon Carlish) to visit a lot. Steffy walked away, and Douglas noted that his Aunt Steffy seemed worried about his dad. Hope reassured him that Thomas would be a good man again…for him.
Liam asked Douglas if it would be ok if he watched out for him and for Hope. Douglas smiled and said that he was totally cool with that, and that Liam had always been nice to him. Liam and Douglas hugged, and Hope looked on, happy.
Elsewhere, Eric apologized to Zoe for Thomas’ actions, and Carter took Zoe home while Eric told Ridge that he’d get Thomas the help he needed.
Hope, Liam, and Douglas then left for home, and Brooke, Ridge, and Steffy talked. Brooke said that she was impressed with Steffy today, and she noted that the day couldn’t have been easy. Steffy said that she’d rather do what was right than what was easy.
Ridge hugged Steffy tenderly. Brooke then asked what Hope meant earlier when she mentioned the kiss, and Steffy relayed the whole story about the kiss manipulation to Brooke and Ridge.
Brooke was miffed at first to hear that Steffy participated in Thomas’ plot to drive a wedge between Hope and Liam, but she quickly calmed down as Steffy explained that she was sorry about her part in it, and that she was glad that Hope and Liam were finally together.
Brooke eventually left, and Steffy spoke privately with Ridge. He urged her to forgive herself for what she had done.
Steffy said she’d be ok, and that Ridge should go reunite with Brooke. Ridge’s eyes twinkled, and he said that it was his job to look out for Steffy, and not vice versa. Steffy insisted that she was fine, but Ridge said that it was ok for her to admit that she was in pain – after all, the father of her child just reunited with another woman. They hugged.
At the cabin, Hope, Liam, and Douglas arrived. Hope eventually went to check on Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) in the other room, leaving Liam and Douglas to talk. Liam asked Douglas for his help in making this night special for their little family.
When Hope returned, Douglas was gone, and Liam said he was off working on a special project.
Hope thanked Liam for being a father-figure for Douglas, and Douglas ran in with his handiwork – two tee shirts, one saying “bride” and the other saying “groom.” Douglas sweetly said that he wanted Hope to marry Liam, and that she could still be a bride if she wanted.
Douglas said that he wanted Hope to be happy, and that he knew that she didn’t have to marry his Daddy in order to be his Mommy.
Liam noted that Douglas had never steered them wrong before, and Hope protested a little, saying they had no license. Liam said they’d make it official tomorrow, and that all they needed was a ceremony. Hope said yes, let’s get married tonight, sparking Douglas and Liam to yell, “Yay!” They group hugged.
