The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is about to make some bold moves related to his mental illness. In a recent interview with TV Insider, Matthew Atkinson dropped hints about a paranoid schizophrenia diagnosis for Thomas. The B&B star also suggested that Thomas needs his mom!
“When I first came onto the show, Taylor (Hunter Tylo) was there,” Atkinson said. “I 100% agree that now would be the perfect time for Taylor to come back into her son’s life.”
Taylor apparently missed the warning signs during her offscreen sessions with Thomas and couldn’t give him a proper diagnosis. You’d think Taylor would want to come help once Thomas spins out of control. Taylor could resolve to give her son the help he truly needs this time around.
However, Atkinson acknowledged that there have been some missed opportunities for Taylor’s return in the past. “He’s fallen off a cliff and fallen into what could have been a vat of acid,” Atkinson said. “There are times she could have come back [before], but there are logistics in making that happen. You have to find a way to make it work.”
Ideally, TPTB would work something out and bring Taylor back – at least for a brief stint. Since Taylor’s children always seem to be in crisis mode, we could stand to see Taylor in the mix again more often. It’d be great if The Bold and the Beautiful could convince Hunter Tylo to return for important arcs like this one.
Nevertheless, we have to consider the possibility that Tylo’s simply not interested. What should B&B do if Tylo isn’t available and isn’t going to be for the foreseeable future? Should the show just bite the bullet and recast at this point?
Ever since Kristian Alfonso (DOOL’s Hope Brady) left Days of Our Lives, some fans have been pushing for her as a potential Taylor recast. There are undoubtedly some other actresses out there who could play a new version of Taylor, too. Many viewers feel like it’d be better than nothing under the circumstances.
Even so, there are other fans who feel like Tylo IS Taylor and can’t be replaced. Those viewers would rather just have Taylor out of the picture if they can’t have the real deal. Which side do you fall on? If Hunter Tylo doesn’t return, would you accept a recast? Should B&B just leave Taylor off canvas instead?
