The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Thursday, January 2, reveal that Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) kissed goodbye at the cabin on the morning after Christmas. Hope was on her way to the office, and she noted that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) wanted to use this valuable time to catch up on their work for the fashion showdown. Liam balked at that, and he was unsettled as Hope left.
Meanwhile, Thomas was busy sketching in the design office at Forrester Creations, while Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) hung out with him. She noted how gracious everyone was at Christmas and that he made her feel at home.
Thomas said that he wanted everyone to see them together, and that he has lots of plans for the future and that she’s a part of them. He then told her to go get ready, since Hope was probably on her way.
Over at Brooke Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) mansion, she and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) talked – turns out, Brooke did stop by the Forrester mansion for a while on the holiday.
Ridge said that he missed her and wanted to be with her, but she pointed out that they signed divorce papers. Ridge said that he hadn’t filed the papers and didn’t want to.
Talk then turned to Thomas, with Ridge insisting that Thomas is with Zoe now, and that Brooke should forgive him so they could move on with their marriage. But Brooke insisted that Thomas being with Zoe didn’t really prove anything, nor did it mean their problems were solved.
Ridge just didn’t understand this, and he said he wanted to revive their marriage.
Brooke said that Thomas still hasn’t gotten the professional help that he needs, that she doesn’t trust him, and that there’s nothing that she saw at Christmas that proves he’s no longer a threat to Hope. Frustrated, Ridge insisted that Thomas is a new man, that he’s moved on, and that he’s no longer a threat to Hope.
Meanwhile, at Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) house, she and Liam talked about their Christmas and how the girls and Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) had a great time together.
Talk eventually turned to Thomas, and Steffy acknowledged how difficult it must be for Liam to have Hope and Thomas sharing custody of Douglas, and that they are sharing their lives with him.
Liam then shared that Hope and Thomas were working together today, and they went back and forth about whether Thomas was really moving on with Zoe, or whether it was just all part of a larger plot to win Hope.
Steffy reiterated that she wanted to believe that Thomas had moved on with Zoe, but Liam remained skeptical, and noted that their so-called spy was dating Thomas, which wasn’t great.
Next, Hope arrived in the design office at Forrester to find Thomas there. After some small talk about how nice Christmas was, Thomas said that he had a surprise for Hope. Hope balked, saying that they should just get to work and leave the surprises for another day.
Suddenly the surprise walked in – it was Zoe wearing a sample design to show Hope.
Thomas then showed off the design, seductively touching and flirting with Zoe along the way. This made Hope a bit uncomfortable, but she liked the design and didn’t want major changes to it.
After Zoe left, Hope quizzed Thomas a little bit about his relationship with Zoe and how surprised she was that he had invited her to Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) mansion for Christmas.
Thomas explained that he wasn’t looking for a relationship with Zoe, but that it had just happened, and he wondered if it upset Hope. Hope responded that she wasn’t upset, just curious about it, and that it was still a little weird seeing Zoe back at Forrester Creations.
Thomas then went on about how he was trying to be the best version of himself now…all while staring at Hope and privately obsessing over her body.
