The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 16 reveal that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) continued their conversation at the cliff house.
Steffy and Liam rehashed the whole saga about how Liam betrayed his marriage vows to Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) after seeing Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) kiss the Hope mannequin, and they reaffirmed their feelings for each other.
Steffy pointed out that Hope would be terribly hurt if she found out the truth, but Liam said that dealing with this with honesty was the only thing to do. Steffy said that if Liam told Hope, then his marriage would be over, and she asked if Liam was trying to punish himself.
Liam said no, and Steffy wondered if Liam wanted to punish her, since her relationship with John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) would be over if Liam tells the truth.
Steffy said that she and Liam should forget what happened, and Liam fired back that he didn’t want their last night together to be a shameful secret. But Steffy said that this wasn’t about just them – the kids would be impacted, too.
“What about our children – our families?” Steffy pleaded, noting that Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) needed Liam and Hope to be there for him.
Liam said that he got it, but he hates secrets. “Liam, please,” Steffy said. Liam then said that he loved Hope and hates that he betrayed his vows, but that he heard Steffy. “Liam, please tell me that you won’t say anything,” Steffy said. “I won’t say anything,” Liam agreed.
Meanwhile, over at the hospital, Hope talked with Finn, who reeled from the fact that Thomas had kissed the mannequin. Hope said that she was telling Finn since she thought Thomas’ medical team needed to know.
Finn said that this kind of behavior could be the result of the hematoma. Hope lamented that Thomas was worried about it happening again and that he was going “crazy.”
Hope also told Finn that Liam witnessed the kiss and thought that Thomas was actually kissing her. Finn thought that Liam must have been stunned, and Hope said that he was, but that it was behind them and that they were moving forward.
Hope affirmed that Thomas would always have her support and understanding, but that Liam was her husband and that she’ll always be committed to him.
In Thomas’ room, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) learned from Thomas that Thomas had kissed the mannequin thinking it was real. Thomas cried and told his father that he was sorry, and that he let everyone down.
Ridge admitted that the truth was a little shocking to hear, but that this was beyond Thomas’ control and that it must have been scary.
Ridge reassured Thomas that the delusions happened because of his brain injury, and he was sorry that Thomas felt that he couldn’t talk about it with him.
Thomas cried and said that he was trying to fight what was happening to him. “It felt so real – I was talking to it,” Thomas sobbed. Though their conversation, Ridge realized that Thomas still loved Hope.
“Yes, I still love her, but I’m not after her,” Thomas said, noting that he wasn’t keeping it inside anymore or holding onto any more secrets. “I told her the truth – that she’s an angel,” Thomas said.
Ridge looked worried and told Thomas that he needed to focus on his recovery. Thomas said that Hope saved him and that she opened her heart to him. “How could I not love her?” Thomas asked.
