Dorinda is sometimes too hard on Tinsley. The breakup with John was tough on Dorinda and she had needed an outlet to vent her anger, but unfortunately she chose to use Tinsley as her means of expressing anger and she’s been really coming down on her. It even started to be noticeable. The rest of the group were left uncomfortable on the orchid trip because Dorinda was acting out and some of them later met with Tinsley to talk her about it. Leah and Luann had lunch with Tinsley. They were all feeling a bit raw after the orchid trip and there were plenty of sore throats to go around because there had been some yelling on the trip. And so the trio talked about all the women that we’re acting out.
Dorinda had been bad. Only Ramona had acted out as well and Sonja’s drinking had to get to a point of being concerning. She had vomited some on the trip. She also accused Tinsley of willing to do anything as long as she got a bracelet out of it and so those three really needed a reality check. Dorinda, Ramona, and Sonja had actually hung out after the trip. They went to an exercise class that was supposed to help them detox and they began talking as they were working out. They discussed Tinsley. Ramona was aware of Dorinda’s behavior towards Tinsley and she tried to tell Dorinda to lay off of her.
Dorinda was victimizing Tinsley. Tinsley may have some annoying traits, but she didn’t deserve to have Dorinda always on her case and so Dorinda needed to calm down. Ramona tried to tell her to do just that. She was offering her advice as both Sonja and Dorinda decided to complain about Tinsley again. Tinsley doesn’t listen. She makes the most basic of mistakes and the two women wanted her to grow up already. Dorinda and Sonja clearly thought the problem here was Tinsley. Tinsley, Leah, and Luann thought the problem was Dorinda. Dorinda was a self-made woman and the other group thought she was resentful of Tinsley being born with a silver spoon.
Dorinda later saw a professional. She talked about losing Richard and her break with John. She realized she never really acknowledged the tremendous loss she suffered. She also noted how well she was doing on her own. Dorinda went from losing Richard to being with John and she never took the time to be alone. She’s now single again. She’s enjoying the quiet and that’s what she needs in her life right now. Dorinda was invited to a Russian bathhouse by Leah. Leah wanted to bring the girls together again so that they could clear the air and so everyone was invited. She invited them to a staple bathhouse that was beyond Canal street.
Most of the women never travel that far south. They were the upper east side sort of women and so this bathhouse was a new experience for them. Leah had wanted to take them out of their comfort zones. She certainly did that with the bathhouse because it was rustic and it wasn’t as refined as the rest of the women were used to. They all had a hard time adjusting to this new place. They still tried it out because they wanted to show Leah they could hang in there and so they were doing well right until they were beaten with leaves. The leaves thing was supposed to be therapeutic. Ramona was the first to try it out and the rest of the women soon followed.
All except for Tinsley. Tinsley hadn’t wanted to do it and so she became the wet blanket of the group. No one complained about it. They let it go and everyone was really trying to be on their best behavior, but Leah felt they should acknowledge what happened and so she brought it up at lunch. Leah wanted to talk about how Dorinda acted at the orchard. She was accused of going for the jugular whenever she’s in a fight and Ramona had wanted Dorinda to at least admit she does that. Dorinda should have taken responsibility. She instead turned it around on Ramona and she accused Ramona of being cutthroat.
The girls wanted Dorinda to own up to what she did. Only she chose to hide. She refused to admit she made a mistake in her behavior to Tinsley or even apologize to her for it and so there was no getting through to her. Dorinda didn’t want to talk about what happened. She forced everyone to let it go and eventually they did. They let the matter drop. They went on with their lives and Leah leaned on her sister Sarah. The two of them very close. They talked about everything and Leah mentioned their mother. Their mother was angry with Leah for drinking again. Leah should have told her mother in person and telling her over the phone had made everything worse.
Ramona meanwhile had a get-together for her friends. She liked bringing women together and helping them develop connections. She considers herself to be a matchmaker for women’s friendships. She was having fun and then Dorinda came. Ramona hadn’t disinvited Dorinda after their argument at the bathhouse and she came to regret that. She thought Dorinda would be her old self. She instead came angry and self-righteous. Dorinda again told Ramona she was in the wrong for telling her she was being mean to Tinsley and she called out Ramona for what she did to Sonja. Ramona had told Sonja she needed to lose weight.
Ramona didn’t say it in front of the group. She had taken Sonja aside to say that and so to have Dorinda throw that in her face and so publicly was embarrassing. Dorinda was embarrassing Ramona in front of her friends. Ramona told Dorinda to take it down some. She didn’t want a scene and so Dorinda and Sonja went storming off. They went to the elevators and Ramona went after them. She later convinced them to come back to her apartment. She told them she loved them and they finally calm down.
