He strongly disagrees with her until one of the youth in the van pulls away leaving them there. Another youth in the van stops the driver, luckily.

The troubled teens are sat down in a row with several criminals brought out to talk to them. John talks to the warden about one of the team’s names Hector. He doesn’t feel like this strategy is going to help Hector, in fact, Hector has been acting up since his brother was incarcerated in this same prison. They believe that Hector needs to meet up with his brother.

Word comes back that the toxicology screens for the young man Paul are all clean. Now they don’t know what to do. Back at the prison, Hector comes face-to-face with his brother.

John and Harper are faced with beating them down to get them all out. An officer from the prison that is helping escort them out is injured and begins to bleed.

Once they make it outside they learn that the warden has been taken, hostage. John and Harper decide to go back to help. On their way, they stop to speak to a prisoner named Oscar that John knows who is an opportunist. They talk him into helping them. After they secure the warden, they make their way out but right into the path of a dozen or more prisoners. Hector’s brother is there and wants to know if Hector got out safe. John tells him that he did. Hector’s brother demands all the other prisoners back down.

Back at the station, Tim and Jackson, Angela, and Lucy all talk. Angela is irritated because she wasn’t the Lopez who was red-flagged on Elvis’ algorithm. She did the ride along for nothing.

Meanwhile, Grace stops by the precinct to see John. She tells him that she needs to take some time. Her ex has asked her to get back together and it would improve the lives of their child. She doesn’t know what to do.
