The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there’s been a gaping hole in Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) breast cancer storyline – a hole shaped just like Adam Newman (Mark Grossman)! Adam used to be quite close to Sharon, but he’s been shoved out of the picture. Fortunately, there’s the potential for these exes to bond again in new episodes. Here are three ways for Sharon and Adam to reconnect.
1) Cancer confession and support
The first one is obvious: Adam needs to learn about Sharon’s cancer diagnosis and her recent surgery. Although Adam’s bound to be upset that he’s just now finding out, that was ultimately Sharon’s choice to make.
Sharon had no obligation to tell Adam anything, so he may understand and respect that. The main thing will be giving Sharon support once Adam’s finally in the loop.
Even if Adam learns the truth from someone else initially, Sharon can still make her own confession and explain things in her own words. Adam will surely offer sympathy and anything else Sharon needs. You can bet Adam will want to be there for Sharon, so this could soften Adam after all the trouble he’s caused lately.
2) Adam’s childhood trauma
Adam’s childhood trauma is something else he may need to explore down the road. Y&R fans know Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) insisted Adam was to blame for AJ Montalvo’s death. Adam doesn’t believe that just yet, but what happens once it sinks in? The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will inevitably face another difficult crisis.
Maybe Sharon could reconnect with Adam by helping him work through such a traumatic experience. Adam probably wouldn’t make a therapy appointment and open up to a stranger, but he might open up to someone he knows and cares about like Sharon. If Adam’s there for Sharon throughout the rest of her cancer story, perhaps Sharon can return the favor and be there for Adam, too.
3) More help for Connor
When Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) was going through a rough time, Adam turned to Sharon for help with his son. Sharon paid Connor several visits as sort of an unofficial therapist. Although Sharon felt like others would be more qualified, she ultimately agreed to talk to Connor.
Sharon might agree to chat with Connor again if other family issues arise. That could certainly happen due to all the looming upheaval with Adam. Kids sense these things anyway, but Connor could easily overhear more than he should or see something online.
If this boy killer story gets splashed all over the media, there’ll be a lot for Connor to take in.
Adam and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) could start having problems, which would make matters even worse. Once Sharon’s feeling up to it, she might try to guide Connor down the right path. Adam would definitely appreciate that and could reconnect with Sharon in the process.
The new safety protocols are something else to consider. Since Sharon Case and Mark Grossman are real-life loves, they could work together without the same restrictions as typical costars.
Grossman and Case would be free to touch and kiss, so Y&R might end up reuniting Adam and Sharon. If so, these strategies would be great ways to push Sharon and Adam in a romantic direction.
