The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) could be in grave danger. As Y&R viewers know, someone tried very hard to shoot and kill Adam, but Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston) got in the way and took the bullet instead.
This has got to be pretty frustrating for the shooter, whomever that person is. After all, the shooter seemed to go to great lengths to try to kill Adam and then frame Billy Abbott (Jason Thomson) for the crime.
Right now, it’s a big mystery as to who the shooter could have been, although a couple of people come to mind. One possibility is that Billy himself was the culprit and he doesn’t realize it.
Billy’s alternate personality could have come back to rid the world of Adam once and for all. That would mesh with Billy’s gun being used in the crime and his earbud being found at the scene.
If Billy’s alter was the shooter, then he would probably want to finish the job soon. Y&R viewers will remember that Billy’s alter was never really concerned about the police or getting caught, and he was pretty clever, so he might try to find a way into the psychiatric hospital.
It would probably be tough, but he might try to pull the family card saying that he was married to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and get into the facility that way.
Of course, another possibility that we’ve theorized about before is that Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) may have returned to Genoa City to take out Adam for killing her father AJ Montalvo back in the day.
Now, if Alyssa were the shooter, she’d probably be hell-bent on finishing the job – after all, for Alyssa, Adam’s become the big problem in her life, and he took her father from her.
Alyssa could conceivably use her reporter credentials to get inside the facility where Adam’s being held. One could imagine Alyssa telling the administrators that she’s working on a story about mental health facilities and getting into interview staff or something like that.
Alyssa could have a big moment with Adam where she faces him down and tries to gun him down. Or Alyssa could take a different tactic and do something like try to poison Adam.
Right now, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) seems to think that Adam is safe and secure in the psychiatric facility, and that gives him some peace of mind about his son.
But what if Adam’s being in the facility just makes him a sitting duck for the next attack? Certainly, if the original shooter is sharp enough, he or she will find a way to get to Adam where he is.
We’ll see what happens here, but something tells us that it’s going to be a while before Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) track down who was actually responsible for the attempt on Adam’s life that left Chance injured.
And until they do, Adam will probably be in danger – even in the confines of the psychiatric facility!
