The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will make some dramatic personal and business choices in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Family matters, a long-standing rivalry, and the future of Jabot will all be impacted as a result.
Jack has been prone to wild emotional swings through the years. Inter-family strife, many ill-fated loves, battles with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and serious decisions involving the business his father, John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), founded.
Now, needing to choose significant paths forward, Jack will proceed boldly.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Mother Dina Mergeron’s Final Months Play Out
Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) has been living with her children for awhile, after Jack, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) decided to bring her home from the memory care facility. While they know their mother’s awareness of reality is lessening, they wanted to be with her during what appears to be the final months of her life.
Twenty-four hour care is needed as Dina will suffer the painful effects of Alzheimer’s. As time passes, Jack, his siblings, and Dina’s grandchildren will need to say goodbye.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Little Time For Romance Or Business
Jack spent a number of good years with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). But it’s fair to say that the late Luan Volien Abbott (Elizabeth Sung), who he met while serving in Vietnam in the 1970’s, is arguably his most tender love. She’s the mother of his son, Keemo Volien Abbott (Philip Moon).
Bergman’s character would seem to have little time to pursue new love interests now. But hopefully he’ll be supported by Keemo, who could return to visit with his grandmother while she’s ailing.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is Jack’s younger son, who he had with the late Diane Jenkins (as last played by Maura West). Jack’s wisely allowed Kyle to share the Chief Executive Officer duties with him at Jabot. Moving forward, Kyle will be allowed to take increasing, earned control.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Renewed Battle Or Continued Compromise?
Victor has long been Jack’s thorn. So, viewers were surprised when he pulled it in the recent past, genuinely seeming to have compartmentalized old grudges with the Moustache.
This act will be the toughest, following the decision to say goodbye to Dina. But Jack can find it within his mind and possibly his heart to recognize more of what he has in common with Victor, than what he feels separates them.
Having these men become friends would be a soapy bridge too far. But writing the characters closer to each other, in measured degrees, makes sense, with Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) best interests potentially being the source of agreement, rather than conflict, as was true in the past.
