The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, January 3 Review - Adam & Chelsea Back Together - Sharon Cancer Scare - Tessa's Hidden Husband

The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Friday, January 3, tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will come downstairs on New Year’s Day to find Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) alone, with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) at the ranch for the day. She’ll note that she’s ready to face whatever the future holds, and the two will talk about what happened last night regarding Chelsea’s breakup with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Chelsea will tell Adam that it breaks her heart that she hurt Nick again, but that it is over and that she’s looking at the reason why. Adam will promise not to pressure her, as she explains that her heart needs to heal before she opens it back up again.

Adam will then suggest that they start with a New Year’s date, right there in the penthouse. Chelsea will go on a walk while Adam prepares a brunch for two.

Once Chelsea returns, she and Adam will have a good meal together, and Adam will say that he remembers everything about her, and that he loves her. She’ll wonder about her imperfections, but he’ll say that he loves her because of them, and that he thinks she feels the same about him.

Adam will say that if it takes her time to realize that, then he doesn’t mind waiting, and the two will toast to what can be.

Meanwhile, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will be nervous about her upcoming meeting with Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman). She’ll sit on the patio at Crimson Lights prior to her meeting, where Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will find her brooding.

Mariah will note that there’s nothing to be nervous about – after all, both she and Tanner are dedicated, passionate artists who have a lot in common.

Inside Crimson Lights, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will be visibly worried and distracted about something as she talks with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) about plans for the day.

Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will be on hand to say her goodbyes before a ski trip, and Nick and Summer Newman (Hunter King) will be around as well. Sharon will later zone out while talking to Nick, with something clearly bothering her.

After everyone leaves, Sharon will step aside and call her doctor to request an appointment because she found a lump in her breast this morning. She’ll look worried as the person on the other end schedules something for her. Sharon will surely be terrified about her likely cancer diagnosis, as she wonders just how serious her condition will end up being.

Next, at Society, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will prepare to tell their family that they’re expecting a baby, but chaos will ensue.

First off, Kevin will be nervous about telling everyone and making it “real,” but Chloe will reassure him that everything will be ok and that they need to share the experience with the people they love. After all, Bella Fisher (Cali May Kinder) was thrilled when they told her.

Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and a grumpy and hungover Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will arrive. Michael will have a huge headache and will want to leave, but Chloe and Kevin will convince him to stay.

Eventually, Fenmore “Fen” Baldwin (Zach Tinker), Esther Valentine (Kate Linder), and Bella will arrive. Kevin will then try to make the big announcement.

However, people will keep interjecting with their own big news, Esther will say that she’s now on a dating app, Lauren will announce that Fenmore’s is going global, and Kevin won’t be able to get in a word edgewise.

Finally, Bella will yell out that that she’s going to be a big sister, and that mommy and daddy are having a baby. Everyone will be thrilled, and Kevin will make an emotional toast to family.

At the Grand Phoenix, Tessa will wait nervously, and finally Tanner will arrive. He’ll say that they should start with a hug, and it will become apparent that the two already know each other. They’ll talk about their past, and about how Tessa always believed in him.

He’ll say that he’s heard her latest songs and that he wants her to be his opening act on tour. He’ll promise that there are no ulterior motives, and it’s solely about her talent.

Tanner will then remark that they were adults now, and that back then, they were reckless, immature kids, but they grew up and moved on. He’ll say that this could be a win for both of them, and that she shouldn’t let the past hold her back.

Later, Mariah will arrive to find Tessa alone. She’ll eagerly ask how the meeting with Tanner went, and Tessa will share that Tanner wants her to be his opening act.

Mariah will be thrilled and will start talking a mile a minute about all they need to do to prepare for the tour, but Tessa will tell Mariah to slow down, and that there’s a part of her that thinks she should turn him down.

Mariah will be floored by this, and she’ll be stunned as Tessa explains that this could come between them, since this was not the first time that she has met Tanner, and that he is her ex and that they were married. Mariah will be stunned into silence as she absorbs that information.

Of course, having been married in the past is a huge secret to keep from someone you love and live with, so Tessa is going to have some explaining to do. It certainly sounds like Tanner and Tessa were involved when they were very young, and that they’ve both moved on, so Mariah probably won’t be too alarmed about Tessa having had a prior relationship, but to keep a secret of that magnitude is pretty intense, and it looks like they’ll have some things to work through.
