The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will face a big change in their lives soon. This happy couple’s all set to welcome another child, so that’s sure to shake things up. In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Greg Rikaart talked about this baby storyline and what he’d like to see in new Y&R episodes.
For starters, Rikaart admitted he was excited when he found out Elizabeth Hendrickson’s real-life pregnancy would be written into the show. Of course, Hendrickson has already given birth to her daughter, but Chloe’s bun is still in the oven.
How’s Kevin feeling, especially since Chloe’s having a boy instead of a girl this time around? “I think he must have anxiety about it,” Rikaart said. “He has mentioned to Chloe that he’s afraid that he might pass on some of his bad traits, and with a son, it seems like there might be more of a chance of that happening.”
Rikaart talked about Kevin’s terrible relationship with his own father and suggested it’s only natural for Kevin to be a bit nervous. Even so, Rikaart feels confident Kevin will work hard to overcome his concerns. The idea of Kevin’s son being a bad seed may be all in his head, but Rikaart confessed he wouldn’t mind if Kevin’s fears came true!
Rikaart suggested that “watching Chloe and Kevin try to cope with a problem child would be really interesting.” He hoped Y&R Head Writer and Co-Executive Producer Josh Griffith might read his interview and run with that plan.
As for Kevin, Rikaart is on board for more tight spots. It seems like trouble always manages to find Kevin – and Rikaart wouldn’t have it any other way. Kevin will surely have some new jams in store for him once new episodes are back on screen.
Finally, Rikaart talked about a character that he’d like to see back on canvas. When asked if Grandma Gloria (Judith Chapman) should pay a visit after the baby’s born, Rikaart had an enthusiastic response. “Oh, hell, yeah!” Rikaart insisted. He praised Judith Chapman as a great actress who brings a lot of fun to The Young and the Restless, so he’d love to see her return.
