The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that many cast and crew members are back on set – although most of the show’s performers are quiet on social media. Of course, that may be because so much work is going into making sure they have a safe filming environment. Everyone at Y&R has been concentrating on following the proper safety protocols, so things like Instagram and Twitter can wait!
However, Hunter King (Summer Newman) did post a rather sleepy Instagram story during her downtime at the studio. King suggested that she’d been taking a nap and woke up with a case of bed head. It’s naturally going to be an adjustment for everyone to get back in the swing of things on set, so naps are useful right now.
Since King’s back at work, we should consider what’s next for Summer. Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) has also been posting from the studio – and he noted that they’re mostly shooting outdoors at the moment. That’s great news since open spaces are a must and can help with social distancing.
This outdoor-focused shooting plan might offer a clue about what’s ahead for Summer and others. You’d think Y&R might want to steer stories toward business instead of romance under the circumstances, but this could be a hint the show will actually steer away from the office.
We could see a lot more walks and talks – or perhaps plot points that give characters a reason to be outside.
Summer and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) might wind up working on some outdoor project for Jabot or even just stepping away from work more often. Since King shares scenes with Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) a lot as well, Phyllis and Summer can easily move their mother-daughter pep talks and arguments outside.
Even so, it certainly sounds like The Young and the Restless will have to get creative as they move along. We’ll all be eager to see what the writing team has come up with – and what new episodes will look like when they hit the screen! As other Y&R info becomes available, we’ll bring you updates.
