The Young and the Restless spoilers document Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott) arguably delivered the best year-to-year performance during his tenure on Y&R. His masterful turn last summer, in particular, when Billy morphed into an alternate version of himself, was spectacular.

Thompson has been nominated for Daytime Emmy awards five previous times. Those distinctions took place during five consecutive years (2011-2015) while he was part of the cast of General Hospital.
The actor portrayed Doctor Patrick Drake on GH from 2005 through 2016. Thompson joined the cast of Y&R during the same year he departed GH. He became the fourth actor to portray Billy within a short period of time (2014-2016). There’s no doubt that he stabilized this role.

Billy unfathomably pulled the plug on the most recent version of Villy. That development was incredible because he was the person who fought so hard to reestablish the couple!
Vickie was blindsided by Billy’s latest act, as she never saw the couple sabotage coming. Audience members were impressed that Y&R created an entirely new way for the character to disrupt his life.
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) appears to be the next good soul who Billy wants to latch onto. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), who’s just gotten her life back on track, flatly told Billy no for even implying renewed involvement. Kudos to her for doing that. Fans are hoping she sticks to that choice and isn’t distracted by Billy’s undeniable charm, or feels a need to save him from himself.

Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) has often tried to help her ever impulsive son. She gave him various business opportunities to channel his focus and consistently supported the stability of Villy through the years.
Billy’s decision to become the co-head of Jabot’s new media division positions him in the middle of three people, Lily, Amanda, and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland). Here’s hoping that their collective wisdom can keep Billy restrained, as Y&R fans know that he’s never been capable, or interested in containing himself for long.
