The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap alum has been dealing with a painful injury during lockdown. This is Us and former Y&R star Justin Hartley (ex-Adam Newman) was spotted at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in May, but all eyes were on his new girlfriend. Since Hartley was kissing Sofia Pernas (ex-Marisa Sierras on Y&R), fans may not have even noticed their location.
Of course, there had to be a reason for the young and fit Hartley to be visiting an orthopedic institute – and now we know what it is. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hartley talked about a project he tackled while stuck at home. Instead of letting his fitness routine suffer, Hartley decided to install a home gym and get in the best shape of his life.
Although Hartley admitted this gym “wasn’t anything fancy,” it got the job done. Hartley suggested that he was accomplishing his fitness goals and everything was going great until an accident caused a setback. The Young and the Restless alum planned to turn himself into a machine, but an injury threw off his plans.
“And that was kind of what I was doing and I did it,” Hartley said. “And I got there, and it was wonderful – and then I pulled a muscle and it ended up not being a pulled muscle. It ended up being I tore my bicep off my arm.”
The good news is Hartley’s been focused on healing and his arm’s doing just fine now. The bad news is Hartley’s workout goals didn’t pan out! Hartley noted recovering from this accident brought some downtime.
Since Hartley wasn’t able to keep up with his muscle-building routine like he wanted, all his gains and the effort he’d put into things went down the drain. Hartley confessed that he’s “almost back to square one now,” but he doesn’t seem worried about it. Sometimes life happens and you just have to roll with whatever comes your way!
Hartley may not play Adam Newman anymore, but Y&R viewers have certainly never forgotten his portrayal. He remains a fan favorite, but Mark Grossman has stepped up as a great recast. The Young and the Restless spoilers say some shockers are in store for Adam once Y&R’s back with new episodes.
