The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that the Abbott family may have some rough times ahead. As Y&R viewers know, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) recently made the decision to bring Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) home from the memory care facility. Dina has been declining off-screen, and her children wanted to bring her home to spend her final days.
Unfortunately, though, this could end up adding to everyone’s heartbreak. In a recent scene, Dina looked frightened and confused about being at the Abbott estate, and she only recognized Jack for a fleeting moment, in between episodes of fear and wondering where she was.
One hopes that the situation doesn’t make Dina’s last days more terrifying that they would have been at the memory care facility.
That said, Y&R viewers haven’t been privy to how Dina has been getting along in the memory care facility, so it’s possible that she has been just as frightened in the facility as well. But her children could face some serious heartache as they get a front-row view of Dina’s final decline, which she’s apparently in right now.
Of course, it’s not just Dina’s children who will be affected by her decline and pending death, but it will also have ramifications for her grandchildren as well. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will be impacted by the situation as well.
In fact, Dina’s decline is apparently going to factor into more drama between Kyle and Theo. According to The Young and the Restless spoilers, Theo will want to do something special for Dina in her final days.
Exactly what this will be remains to be seen, but as usual, part of Theo’s motivation for doing so will be to upstage Kyle. Y&R viewers know that Kyle has a soft spot for Dina, and he’s been really good with his grandmother, often being the one person who’s been able to calm her down.
Well, Kyle apparently won’t be happy when he learns about Theo’s grand gesture for Dina. Kyle doesn’t trust Theo at all, and he’ll be sensitive to the fact that Theo is deliberately trying to upstage him and get attention within the Abbott family. And since Kyle still sees Theo as an outsider, his blood will boil.
Look for some serious drama between Kyle and Theo over Dina going forward, which should make for some larger Abbott family drama. Of course, this really isn’t what the family needs right now – they need to come together for Dina’s sake and get along.
It will only make matters worse that Jack ends up siding with Theo in the dispute, which should totally infuriate Kyle. We’ll see how it all works out, but it looks like there will be more drama and heartache with and concerning Dina as time goes on.
Of course, this is all leading up to Dina’s inevitable death. But for now, her children and grandchildren will cope as best they can, with some bumps along the way.
