The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a case of wedding fever could break out in Genoa City. We all know marriage proposals and gorgeous nuptials can sometimes be contagious on soaps! That could especially be the case for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) in the weeks ahead.
Nick is watching his sister, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), kick off her happily ever after with Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston). We also know Nick’s set to be best man at Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) nuptials. That’ll bring another opportunity for Nick to have marriage on his mind.
Of course, Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) had that failed elopement, so they may get their own marriage plans back on track soon. Kyle and Summer might even ditch the idea of eloping and focus on planning a big wedding this time.
With all the marriage talk surrounding Nick, it’s only a matter of time before he pops the question to Phyllis. The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Nick and Phyllis may be headed for a split eventually, but Y&R may want to build them up to tear them down.
The best way to do that would be to have Phyllis and Nick get engaged in the near future.
Phyllis struggled with committing to Nick again in the beginning, but she seems to have moved past most of her doubts and insecurities. They still flare up every now and then, but Nick always finds a way to calm Phyllis down and remind her of just how much she means to him.
Phyllis is usually putty in Nick’s hands, so he probably wouldn’t have too much trouble convincing her to tie the knot again.
Could that be a nice surprise waiting for Phyllis on New Year’s Eve? Sharon and Rey may not be the only ones having a romantic celebration. There’s no guarantee that wedding will be completed anyway, so Y&R needs to have some backup romance for that episode.
Perhaps after all the “Shey” hoopla dies down, it’ll set the stage for Nick to propose and lock in a “Phick” engagement.
