The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) expertise and long history of experience with all things Newman makes him the best character to resolve this family’s latest crisis. As fans recall, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has recently been revealed as having committed not one, but two murders.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) advised Adam that he was responsible for what happened to Alyssa Montalvo’s (Maria DiDomenico) father in Kansas many yeas ago. But Adam refuses to believe Victor and seems to have blocked out the traumatic event.
Viewers saw Adam tell Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) about the man he killed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a act of self-defense. One of Adam’s growing number of problems is that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) became aware of that information.

Longtime viewers know that Paul’s father, Carl Williams (Brett Hadley), was introduced in the 1980’s when the backstory of Davidson’s character, who was introduced in 1978, was expanded.
Carl was a detective with the Genoa City Police Department. Paul opened his own detective agency during that decade, with Nathan Hastings (Nathan Purdee) later joining him.
Davidson has worked on a recurring basis for awhile, rather than having a regular contract. That reflects the nature of Hollywoodland. There’s no doubt that this actor, who ranks second in all-time tenure to Kate Linder (Esther Valentine), who’s been part of the cast since 1973, stands with the show’s all-time best actors. His character is simply indelible.
So, why not have Paul, who currently heads the GCPD, work with Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) on the Adam matter?
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Protected Son Until Now
Victor has employed his paternal instincts for all these years. He’s protected the son he had with Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman) from recalling the horror of what happened to A.J. Montalvo (no actor name known for this role).
But the methods Adam employed to push Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) out of Newman Enterprises, so that he could take control of the Chief Executive Officer’s spot, forced Victor’s hand.
Adam’s reaction for Victor having flown to Kansas to handle the immediate aftermath of A.J.’s death, including paying a corner to adjust the official paperwork and then to have maintained this secret for so long, projects full ingratitude.
Victor will need to respond if Adam persists in challenging his father’s actions.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Isn’t That Guilty
Adam’s actions as a child were in defense of his mother. His reaction in Vegas was taken to protect himself and Chance. So, Adam isn’t guilty of premeditated murder in either instance, with the Nevada situation being the greater offense.
Rather than serving as his own protection force, Victor should seek Paul’s help. Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) could be another asset as well. She’s no longer GC’s District Attorney and was targeted by Victor in the recent past, but maintains her full sense of fairness.
Together, Paul and Christine can help Victor to resolve his family problems, even if Adam initially resists everyone’s attempts to help him.
