The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may need someone in his corner in his fight against Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Y&R fans know Adam’s fury was unleashed over Billy’s big exposé.
Adam intends to sue Chancellor Communications, but that may not accomplish much since the story pretty much just told the truth.
One way or another, Adam intends to make Billy pay for this. Although Adam has Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) on his side, it never hurts to have another ally. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) just might be a good one in this case.
Although Phyllis and Billy usually battle tension when they’re together, they’re on decent enough terms that they can cross paths and have a conversation.
Billy doesn’t view Phyllis as a real threat. Meanwhile, suspicions are raised the moment Chelsea walks into a room – and Billy obviously doesn’t trust Adam.
Chelsea and Adam would be wise to have Phyllis on their side since Billy would never see her coming. Since Phyllis had a falling out with Adam, it’s not like they’re friends anymore.
Nevertheless, could change due to Phyllis’ dire financial situation. Phyllis is broke and desperately needs funds to pay the giant tax bill that’s headed her way. Her hotel is at stake!
We have to wonder why Y&R writers chose to put Phyllis in such a financial predicament. The Grand Phoenix is Phyllis’ baby, so she’ll save this hotel or die trying. Phyllis has no intention of failing, so she’ll do whatever it takes to raise the money she needs and come roaring back.
On the October 2 Young and the Restless episode, Phyllis frets about her financial woes and calls Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). She’s eager to pitch some idea she believes is extraordinary, but what if Victoria gives that idea a hard pass?
That could put Phyllis right back where she started: in desperate need of urgent cash flow.
Adam actually offered Phyllis a $10 million check when she was attempting to be his friend – just to get rid of her. Phyllis tore it up, but she’s probably wishing she’d kept it right about now. Maybe Phyllis will approach Adam about a mutually beneficial arrangement and a new check.
Phyllis could pitch in with Billy’s takedown in exchange for the cash. Offering up the news that Billy slept with Summer Newman (Hunter King) would be a nice start. Would Phyllis throw her own daughter under the bus for her hotel? Probably!
Of course, Billy’s done other horrible things like carrying on an affair with his brother’s wife, trying to run down Adam in his car, dumping his family to find himself… The list goes on and on.
Adam’s story was about the making of a monster, but Billy really needs an exposé written on him. Billy Abbott: Anatomy of a Screw-up – Ignoring the Monstrous Man in the Mirror.
However, a very public tell-all interview from Phyllis might do some damage to Billy’s credibility in the press. Then again, Adam might have something sneakier in mind – like a recording of Billy confessing to Adam’s attempted murder.
Phyllis recorded Adam and Chance Chancellor’s (Donny Boaz) Vegas secret before it was destroyed, so maybe she should make things right with a new recording to help Adam.
Whatever Adam needs, Phyllis might be willing to help if the price is right. As other Y&R updates emerge, we’ll keep you posted.
