The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) will decide to get honest on new episodes starting Monday, August 10. Y&R fans know Summer had some initial reservations about her mom and dad getting back together.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman’s reunions always seem to end in disaster, so it’s easy to see why Summer was concerned.
However, Summer really has no room to talk since she got back together with an ex of her own. Phyllis was fearful when Summer reunited with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) as well, but she’s done her best to be supportive. Summer tried to dial down her own criticism, but that won’t be the case for long!
On Wednesday, August 12, Summer will speak the truth – even if it’s a bit harsh! The Young and the Restless spoilers say Summer will spill her real feelings on the topic of Phyllis and Nick’s renewed romance. There’s no word on who Summer will share that with or why, but it makes sense that it’ll be Phyllis herself.
It’s easy to imagine Phyllis inquiring about Summer’s love life and offering updates on her own. Summer could easily seem somewhat uncomfortable during that discussion. If Phyllis realizes this is about Summer’s disapproval, she might push her daughter to just come right out and say what she’s thinking.
Phyllis has never been one to shy away from a confrontation. She likes to keep the peace with Summer when she can, but her stubborn daughter makes that difficult.
In the week ahead, Summer may admit that she has no faith in Phyllis and Nick’s relationship. Perhaps Summer will confess that she’s just waiting on them to break up like they’ve done in the past.
Of course, that’s the kind of thing that would offend Phyllis, who may fire back that Summer and Kyle could just as easily crash and burn. Phyllis may wonder why Summer thinks she’s the only one capable of making a reunion work.
Although Phyllis will likely be right about Summer being unfair, Summer will also be right about Nick and Phyllis’ romance. There’s just no way this is going to last.
In fact, Summer may manage to plant doubts in Phyllis’ mind. Phyllis has struggled with those anyway, so it’d be simple for Y&R to rev them back up. It sounds like Summer will predict doom and gloom for “Phick,” so Phyllis may worry that prediction will come true.
