The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Thursday, August 13, tease that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will get a visit from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) as she’s resting and recovering from her surgery.
Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will leave Sharon and Victoria alone, and Sharon will get Victoria caught up on her surgery and how she’s playing a waiting game before beginning more rounds of chemotherapy.
Victoria will also share that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is no longer CEO of Newman Enterprises and that he has his own problems to deal with now.
Meanwhile, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will tell Adam at Crimson Lights that she’d like to go meet George the farm caretaker from Kansas in his stead.
Chelsea will worry that this is all happening so fast after Adam lost the CEO spot at Newman, and she’ll think it’s best to just call off meeting with George. But Adam will insist that he’ll meet George and get the truth about what happened all those years ago with AJ Montalvo’s death.
Over at Society, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will leave George a message asking him to return his call before he meets with Adam. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will arrive and meet with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) to talk about Jabot business.
Kyle and Summer will head over to the Abbott mansion to see Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), and Jack will approach a brooding Victor at the bar. Jack will wonder aloud what Adam’s done now.
Victor and Jack will go back and forth about sons, and Jack will eventually opine that maybe it’s time for Victor to give up on having a relationship with Adam.
Victor won’t be impressed, and he’ll proceed to take some jabs at Kyle in retaliation. Meanwhile, at the Chancellor mansion, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will have some moments with Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) while Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is upstairs suffering from heartburn.
Kevin will call out Esther on her excessive spending for things for the baby, and she’ll admit that she’s just trying to make up for Chloe not having a dad. Kevin will open up about how he worries about his own ability to parent a son, since his relationship with his father wasn’t great.
Esther and Kevin will reassure each other, with Esther telling Kevin he’s a good man, and Kevin promising Esther that she did an incredible job raising Chloe.
Meanwhile, Kyle and Summer will tend to Dina at the Abbott mansion. Kyle will notice that Dina’s upset about something, and he’ll call Jack, who will still be at Society trying to give Victor advice about Adam.
Victor will grump that he doesn’t need advice and that Jack doesn’t at all realize what he’s dealing with when it comes to Adam.
At the penthouse, Adam and George will arrive to greet Chelsea. Adam will start in with some questions about AJ’s death, and George will ask when Victor will be arriving.
Adam will say that Victor’s not coming, and that Victor is claiming that he killed AJ as an 11-year-old child. Adam will ask George for the truth, but George will say that he doesn’t want any part of this at all.
Soon, Adam will get a call from Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) who’s upset about soccer. Adam will have a good parenting moment and calm Connor own, which George will overhear.
George will say that Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman) once worried about Adam the same way. George will think that Adam knows the truth about AJ deep down, and that Hope and Victor just wanted to protect him.
Later, after George has gone, Adam will wonder if Victor got to George or whether Victor’s account of what happened is true. Chelsea will think that George seemed sincere.
Adam will try to absorb all of this – that he could have killed someone but blocked the whole thing out entirely. Adam will think that he needs to know what happened, and he’ll want to get to that part of himself, but he won’t know how.
Back at Sharon’s place, she’ll be napping when Adam stops by. Adam will say that he needs her help and that it can’t wait. Meanwhile, over at the Abbott mansion, Jack will return from checking on Dina and he’ll tell Kyle and Summer that Dina was indeed upset and that she said something about “Bixley.”
Summer, Kyle, and Jack will wonder what on earth it means.
