The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 11, tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will speak with Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) at the Abbott estate. Abby will notice that Jack is distant, and he’ll reveal that he’s got family on his mind – Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) in particular. Abby will balk when Jack second-guesses himself on pitting Theo and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) against each other.
Meanwhile, at Society, Theo will notice a bag of food that’s about to be sent over to Chancellor Media, and he’ll write something and stick it into the bag. Over at Chancellor Media, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will probe a bit about Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) feeling toward Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Lily will have sensed some discomfort between them and will wonder if it was a mistake to hire Amanda.
Over at the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will get a surprise visit from Amanda, who will think that Phyllis has been shopping since Phyllis has just lugged a box into her room.
Amanda will wind up investigating what’s in the box, and it will be…dinosaur bones. Amanda will wonder what’s going on, and Phyllis will explain that they’re going to save the Grand Phoenix from extinction.
At Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) place, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Sharon will return from Sharon’s surgery. Soon, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind), Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will show up for food and to support Sharon.
Faith will wonder if the surgery got rid of the cancer, and Sharon will explain that she still has more chemo treatments to go and that nothing’s certain.
As they’re enjoying food and talking, Tessa will let it slip that she saw Nick and Phyllis together earlier, and Sharon will learn that Nick and Phyllis are back together.
Sharon will spend some time alone talking with Mariah, and she’ll confess that she’s worried about her scars from the surgery and possible disfigurement of her breast. Mariah will reassure her mom that she’s beautiful no matter what.
Back at Chancellor Communications, Billy and Lily will open their takeout and Billy will encounter what Theo left in the bag, which is a proposal. Billy won’t be sure that he can trust Theo, but Lily will note that Theo’s blog is impressive and that he may have an eye for talent. Billy will call Theo in to make his pitch.
Later, Nick will meet up with Phyllis at the Grand Phoenix and he will tell her that Sharon knows about their relationship, then he’ll sense that Phyllis has some scheme going on.
Phyllis won’t tell Nick what’s going on, but Nick will figure out that it all has to do with Abby. When he gets a moment alone, Nick will call Abby saying that he has an offer for her.
Theo will head over to see Billy and Lily, and he’ll fill them in on what happened to his great position at Jabot. Theo will say that he moved on, and he’ll proceed to pitch them on how he can be valuable to Chancellor Media.
Billy will then call Theo out on being fired from Jabot, and Theo will take the blame for what happened. Later, Billy and Lily will disagree on giving Theo a shot – Lily will be worried about Theo’s lie, yet Billy will think that Theo handled the interview process well.
Nick will meet with Abby at Society, offering to give her any of the buildings he owns in exchange for her hotel property. Abby will know that Nick is doing this for Phyllis, and she’ll balk.
Soon, both Abby and Nick will get texts announcing that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has been reinstated as CEO at Newman Enterprises. After a moment of reflecting on that, Nick will ask whether Abby will accept his offer about the hotel.
Back at the Grand Phoenix, Amanda will tell Phyllis about working at Chancellor Media, and Phyllis will wonder whether Amanda will have any trouble working with Billy. Amanda won’t think so.
Finally, Theo and Jack will encounter each other at Crimson Lights, and they’ll discuss what happened at Jabot with Theo’s firing. Jack will have some compassion for Theo, especially given his own difficulties when he was younger.
Jack will invite Theo to come see Dina still, and he’ll promise that their Abbott family bond is forever.
