The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Tuesday, October 13, tease that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will have a nice talk with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) at Society – all about how Abby is thinking about starting a family with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz).
Ashley will be surprised but very happy for her daughter, and she’ll tell Abby to follow her instincts.
Meanwhile, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will tell Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) the news about her engagement to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).
Upon hearing that Sharon has news, Faith will immediately think that Sharon’s cancer is gone, but Sharon will explain that they still haven’t gotten word back from the doctor about that.
While Sharon’s out of the room, Faith will be worried that perhaps Sharon and Rey are getting married because they got bad news from the pathologist. Mariah will talk Faith down, and Faith will say she’s fine, but clearly Faith will still be having difficulties with all the stressors she’s currently dealing with.
Mariah will then start to worry, and she’ll privately ask Sharon if there’s any chance that she and Rey got bad news from the pathologist, but Sharon will reassure Mariah that’s not the case. Mariah will be relieved, and she’ll tell Sharon that both she and Faith want Sharon to be happy.
At Crimson Lights, Chance will meet with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson), who will explain that Nevada is investigating the Vegas situation, and that he can’t hire Chance for the GCPD until the inquiry is over. Chance will be grateful for the opportunity, pending a favorable outcome to the investigation.
Rey will show up, and Paul will introduce Rey and Chance, who will talk after Paul takes off. Rey will acknowledge that he has a big problem with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), but that he won’t let it color his impression of Chance.
Chance will appreciate that, and he and Rey will get started on the right foot.
Later, Sharon and Rey will call Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) and Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue) from the coffee house and tell them about their engagement. Rey and Sharon will get great receptions from Noah and Celeste, and they’ll go home to celebrate together.
Abby and Chance will meet in Chancellor Park, and Abby will learn about Chance’s possible hire at the GCPD, then she’ll suggest that they head over to the Grand Phoenix and celebrate their newfound plans for the future.
Abby and Chance will make love, and Abby will tell Chance that she wants to have a family with him. Chance will be thrilled.
At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will arrive and get quizzed by Devon about what’s upsetting Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy).
Devon will describe the changes in Elena, and Nate will say carefully that what Elena is most afraid of is Devon being drawn to Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan).
Through their conversation, Nate will even suggest to Devon that if he wants to see where things go with Amanda, then he should set Elena free. Devon will find that to be a weird statement, and he’ll insist that Elena is who he wants to be with.
Devon will think that maybe Nate is having second thoughts about seeing Amanda, and Nate will effective skirt the subject.
At the New Hope Clinic, Elena will be there when Amanda arrives with questions about what’s bothering Nate these days. Amanda will say that something seems different about Nate, and that he has this look in his eye like something’s weighing on him. Elena will be uncomfortable with the whole conversation.
Later, Nate will come to the clinic, and he and Elena will talk about their next move. Together, they’ll discuss the possibility of confessing their affair to Devon, but Nate will point out that he doesn’t feel like Devon should suffer just because he wants to unburden himself.
That will strike a chord with Elena, and Elena will suggest that one of them stop working at the clinic, but they’ll nix that idea pretty quickly.
At Chancellor Communications, Amanda will talk business with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), and then Lily will broach the topic of Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan).
Lily will tactfully apologize for being the cause of the accident that took Hilary’s life. Amanda won’t really know what to say, but she’ll graciously tell Lily that she and Hilary were separated long before that tragic accident.
Lily and Amanda will decide to take their relationship one step at a time, and Amanda will say that she likes working at Chancellor Communications and would like to continue. Lily and Amanda will end the conversation on a positive, yet intense, note.
Later, Amanda will bump into Devon at Society, and Amanda will share that she just had a heavy conversation with Lily. Amanda will say that she’s decided to get a private investigator to look into the story of her birth, so that she knows what happened.
Devon will wish her well and say that he’s behind her all the way. Amanda will hope that she’ll find the answers she needs.
