The Young and the Restless Spoilers Recap: Wednesday, December 2 - Abby & Chance Married - Abbots, Newmans, & Chancellors Celebrate

The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 2, tease that Chance Chancellor’s (Justin Gaston) and Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) wedding will start, with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) officiating.

Devon will say a few traditional words, and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) will read a bible verse as Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) walks in late and sits down.

When Devon asks who gives this woman, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will say that she gives herself with his and Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) blessing.

Abby and Chance will say their vows as Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) slips into a seat, and after the exchange of rings, Devon will pronounce Chance and Abby husband and wife.

Immediately after, Victor, Ashley, and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will each say some touching words to the bride and groom. Chance and Abby will also address the crowd, thanking everyone for their support and gushing about how the joining of their three families is a wonderful event.

Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Abby will go up to a bedroom to get Abby changed out of her gown, and Abby will take a moment to thank Mariah for all her work in putting the wedding together. Abby will be beaming with happiness.

Back downstairs, Billy will tell Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that he’s trying to keep a low profile due to his situation, prompting Victor to grump about how Billy shot Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Jill will be stunned to hear this, and Nikki will pull Victor aside telling him not to ruin the day for Abby. Chance will come face to face with Billy, as Billy insists that he didn’t shoot Chance.

Chance will leave and go upstairs to see Abby, who will now be changed, and the two will talk about their honeymoon, which will be on a private island with no cell service. Back downstairs, various conversations will take place amongst the guests, and Billy will take off to avoid conflict with Victor.

Among the conversations going on around the room, Mariah will hint to Devon that love can overcome a lot of things. Devon will think that Mariah’s making a point about not giving up on love, and he’ll reassure Mariah that there’s someone out there for him.

Elsewhere, Jack will thank Nikki for her generous donation to the Alzheimer’s foundation in Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) memory.

Back upstairs, Ashley and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will talk about how wonderful the ceremony was and how proud Ashley is of her daughter.

Ashley will gush about seeing her daughter’s wedding day, then she’ll realize how difficult this must be for Traci, since Traci lost her daughter Colleen Carlton (Tammin Sursock) and will never see her wedding day. Traci will assure Ashley that she’s ok and has only joy in her heart for Abby today.

Nina will have an activity where everyone writes a bon voyage message to Chance and Abby on a card. Everyone will write their special message for Chance and Abby, and viewers will see a montage of what each person in attendance has written.

After everyone’s done, Nina will give all the cards in a box to the happy couple to read later.

Soon, Abby and Chance will take off for the airport, and afterwards various conversations will take place around the room as the reception winds down. Victor will grump a little more about Billy shooting Adam, which will irk Jill, but Jack will get everyone to just take a breath and reflect on the day.

The group will talk about how quickly children grow up, and viewers will see a montage of flashbacks from Y&R’s vintage episodes.

For example, Jack will flash back to when Kyle was a toddler, and then viewers will see Kyle in present day return to his room at the Grand Phoenix. And Victor and Nikki will flash back to when Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) were children, and then viewers will see Victoria and Nick in present day.

As the group continues to stand around and talk, Jill will say that despite all their animosities, this wedding has brought everyone together. Ashley will think that perhaps it’s a turning point for their families. Jack will propose a toast to the Abbotts, the Chancellors, and the Newmans bravely facing the future together.
