The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 21, tease that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will run out of the Grand Phoenix lobby after decking Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will call for an ambulance, as Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) walks in and sees Nate on the floor with a lot of blood. Nate’s hand will be bleeding, and Elena will tell Nate that she told Devon the truth. Amanda will overhear that.
The ambulance will come to get Nate, and Elena will scramble to leave, as she’ll want to follow the ambulance to the hospital. Amanda will have words with Elena, saying that she thought Elena had more respect for Devon than this.
Elena will take off, and Phyllis will come back and note that Nate is a surgeon and really doesn’t need a hand injury.
Phyllis will wonder what set Devon off, and Amanda will tell him the whole story. Amanda will be upset for Devon, and she’ll wonder if this happened because she spent so much time with Devon.
Phyllis will say that it had nothing to do with Amanda. Amanda will go on about how Devon has been through so much, and how he didn’t need this.
Phyllis will give Devon’s award to Amanda, saying that she’ll probably see Devon before Phyllis does. Amanda will go upstairs to her room, and Phyllis will get a call from the press wanting a comment on what went down in the lobby tonight. Phyllis will say “no comment.”
Over at Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will spot Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) seemingly waiting for someone. Mariah will confront Faith, who will say that she’s waiting for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to pick her up.
Mariah will ultimately buy it, and Faith will take off after supposedly getting a text from Nick saying he’s outside to pick her up.
Mariah will be closing up the place when Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) comes in saying that he just saw Faith in Chancellor Park with some older girl. Mariah will immediately call Nick and inform him about the development, then she’ll blast Billy for publishing the exposé and sending Faith into a tailspin.
Billy will refuse to apologize, but he’ll feel for Faith nonetheless.
Later, Nick will arrive with Faith in tow, and Mariah will let Faith have it. Faith will apologize to Mariah for lying about where she was going. Mariah will take off, and Nick will gripe at Faith for her actions.
Faith will be a little flippant, and she’ll repeatedly suggest that she’s fine and that she won’t do it again.
Nick will want to call Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), but Faith will talk him out of it, saying it it late and they don’t want to ruin Sharon’s mood. As Nick locks up the place, Faith will get a text from someone saying, “U cool?” Faith will text back, saying, “Totally. See you soon.”
At Society, Abby will see Devon slink in and sit at the bar. Abby will try to talk to Devon, but he’ll rather rudely tell her that he just wants a drink. Devon will flash back to everything that happened with Elena and Nate, and he’ll leave upset as Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) walks in.
Chance will share with Abby that the inquiry was intense, but that he’s optimistic about making it onto the GCPD.
At Devon’s penthouse, Elena will walk in to find Devon sitting alone in the dark. Elena will relay that Nate has a serious injury to his hand including nerve damage.
Elena will beg Devon for forgiveness, saying that she made a terrible mistake and that she’s deeply sorry. Elena will be pretty torn up, saying that whatever she needs to do, she’ll do.
Devon will want to know why Elena cheated with his cousin of all people. “Were you punishing me for spending time with Amanda?” Devon will ask.
Elena won’t be sure, and she’ll cry about how she was scared of losing Devon to Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) and to Amanda. Devon will say that Elena was it for him, and that she was his life, home, and heart.
Devon will wonder if he ever made Elena happy, and she’ll say yes. Devon will be incredulous that Elena could love him and do this to him.
Devon will look disgusted with Elena, and when she asks where they go from here, Devon will say that she should stay in the guest room tonight and pack in the morning, because he doesn’t want her living there anymore.
Devon will leave the room, and Elena will break down sobbing.
Back at the Grand Phoenix, Abby and Chance will walk in to find Phyllis still in the lobby. Abby will tell Phyllis that the gala for Devon “didn’t suck,” while Phyllis expresses condolences to Abby for Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) death.
Abby and Chance will go upstairs and decide to spend the next day together, saying that only good things are coming their way.
Finally, at the New Hope Clinic, Nate will walk in sadly with his hand bandaged. Nate will gaze into the exam room where he and Elena slept together, and he’ll look absolutely miserable.
