The Young and the Restless Spoilers Review: Wednesday, October 7 – Adam’s Plan Knocks Chelsea Out Cold – Faith Needs Therapy

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers review for Wednesday, October 7, teases that some heated conflict takes center stage. At Chancellor Communications, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) rants about all the damage Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) did – not just to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) but to Chelsea and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).

Chelsea argues that people got hurt; doesn’t Billy even care? Billy can’t believe Chelsea’s upset over him publishing an honest article when Adam’s the one who did the real damage.

Chelsea says it’s more than that, but Billy thinks Adam has really warped her thinking. “You know, I gotta say, the Chelsea I knew wouldn’t have been played so easily,” Billy insists.

Chelsea thinks it’s pathetic and dangerous for Billy to take so many risks – just to take a shot at his sworn enemy! Billy argues that being reckless is his thing and the article’s been quite lucrative.

Chelsea contends that she’s trying to save Billy from Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), who will destroy Billy. Their lawsuits have been thrown out, but they shouldn’t be underestimated.

Billy fires back about how Adam doesn’t deserve Chelsea or Connor and calls her “Chels.” Chelsea admits she always hated it when Billy called her that and calls him “Billy Boy.” Billy feels like every time Chelsea comes to warn him about his imminent ruin, she’s proving his point – that Adam’s a monster.

At Adam’s penthouse, Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) arrives and rants about how he thought Adam was going to stop Billy. Adam tried, but he points out that Billy’s article was full of conjecture and Chance wasn’t specifically named.

Chance admits Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) put it together, so Adam wants to know what Chance said when he talked to Paul.

Chance notes that when confronted, he admitted he was the federal agent in the story. Now Chance’s job offer is up in the air. “I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want his newest employee involved in a homicide investigation in Nevada!”

Adam insists he’ll have Chance’s back, just like in Vegas. A call comes in from Paul, who wants to meet Chance now. After Adam wishes Chance luck, Chance wishes the same to Adam. “I make my own luck,” Adam says.

Once Chance is gone, Adam makes a call and states that he’s ready now. He confirms that Billy’s in the office and doesn’t care who he’s meeting with. Adam wants his minion to get in position and await the signal.

At Society, Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) got a stiff drink ready for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Abby hopes Mariah can relax a bit since things have been so stressful due to Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) surgery, but Mariah feels like she’ll remain terrified until Sharon gets a clean bill of health.

Although Mariah’s hopeful that all the cancer was removed, Sharon’s doctors can’t be sure yet. Sharon is also facing more radiation – and Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) is really having a rough time.

Mariah rants about Abby’s “idiot uncle” making things worse with his article since it resulted in bullying for Faith. Abby wants to help make Faith feel loved, so she gets Mariah on board with a girls’ night.

At Sharon’s place, she settles in on the sofa before Faith appears. Faith checks to see if Sharon’s OK and bolts into the kitchen for tea when Sharon asks. Sharon feels like Faith wanted to get away from her, but Rey thinks Faith just doesn’t know how to react to Sharon in this state.

Rey notes that Faith was quiet earlier and mostly on her phone. He decides to make himself scarce so Sharon can have a mother-daughter talk with Faith. Once Rey’s upstairs, Sharon asks how school’s going.

Faith insists the article drama will blow over and apologizes for not saying goodbye to Sharon before her surgery.

Sharon thinks it’s fine and doesn’t want Faith to give up being a normal teenager. She sends Faith off to hang out with Mariah at Crimson Lights. Once Mariah gets updates on Faith heading to the coffeehouse, she tells Abby she has to go.

Abby opts to stay and meet with Chance to hear about his job offer. She fears Paul will rescind it over Billy’s article.

Mariah doesn’t think Abby should jump to any conclusions and mentions all that talk about Abby’s future with Chance. Abby suggests that was more like a hypothetical situation.

Instead of planning their future, it was more like planning to plan it. Mariah doesn’t think Abby should write off a good thing – and Chance is indeed a good thing.

Back at Chance Comm, Chelsea rages about Billy being a hypocrite. She argues that Adam has changed, but Billy’s the one who keeps dredging up the past. Billy contends that the con has been conned!

Chelsea brings up how hard “Chadam” worked to get their life together back on track. Thanks to Billy, they had to ship Connor off to boarding school.

Chelsea notes that Connor’s bound to come across that article and will be devastated since he worships his dad. Billy argues that Chelsea shouldn’t have let Connor idolize some comic book version of Adam.

Chelsea feels sorry for Billy, who lives in the past. She thinks they both know this is about Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono).

Chelsea wonders if Billy actually thinks that sweet little girl would approve of what her daddy’s doing. Chelsea adds that if she knew how vicious Billy and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) would become, she never would’ve let them adopt Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare).

After Chelsea storms out, she gets on the elevator as Adam tells his henchman to “go” via text. Adam races out of the penthouse as Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) shows up at Chance Comm. Suddenly, the place goes dark and Chelsea’s left stuck on the elevator. “You have got to be kidding me,” Chelsea says.

Billy brings Lily up to speed on the listening device Chelsea previously planted. He suspects Adam was behind the lights going out. Billy assumes Adam wants to kill the sequel to the story and intends to make his move while the security cameras are out and everyone’s home.

Billy decides he’s a step ahead of Adam and will stay put. He assures Lily that Adam isn’t stealing anything from him tonight!

Talk turns to the Adam sequel. Lily wanted to wait until the smoke cleared, but she’s rethinking that since the first one was such a sensation. Billy insists the next round of dirt on Adam is in a safe place.

In the elevator again on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Chelsea climbs up on the handrails in heels. She’s trying to pry open a way out when she slips, hits her head and loses consciousness.

Back at the cottage, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) arrives and talks to Sharon about Faith. They suggest the possibility of getting Faith a therapist, but Nick doesn’t want Faith to feel like she’s letting them down.

Nick gripes about the article adding to Faith’s pain, but Sharon notes Billy was to blame rather than Adam – at least on wanting the kidnapping story to come out.

Nick admits he knew the story was happening and regrets not trying to stop Billy. He discusses Connor with Sharon, who thinks Chelsea and Adam will find a way to raise him successfully. Nick thinks they have an advantage since neither one of them is a psychopath, so Sharon starts to pipe up.

Nick doesn’t want Sharon to get upset, so they shift back to Faith. Nick feels confident Faith will power through this like she always does. When Nick learns Rey’s moving back in, he thinks that’s great news.

Sharon’s still worried about Faith and doesn’t want to assume their daughter will just grow out of this. Nick agrees on Wednesday’s Young and the Restless episode and notes that they’ll make sure Faith has all the help she needs.

At the Grand Phoenix, Adam enters Billys suite wearing a baseball cap and gloves. He digs through drawers and the cabin before looking under the bed. Adam looks frustrated as he comes up empty.

At Crimson Lights, Faith tells Mariah that she’s failing at being normal. She pretended to oversleep and saw Sharon crying without saying anything. Faith wonders what’s wrong with her, but Mariah insists nothing’s wrong with Faith at all.

She reminds Faith that they all need someone to lean on and lists all the people who can be there for Faith.

Chance finds Abby at Society and admits his meeting with Paul was canceled since something came up for Paul. Abby pushes Chance to cut ties with Adam, but he can’t do that. Abby points out that Adam may have already cost Chance this job. What else is Chance willing to give up for Adam?

Talk turns to what Chance will do if the job offer falls through. Chance has a non-compete clause and can’t restart his security firm unless it’s 200 miles away. Chance lists all the places he could go, but he won’t.

Any opportunity that takes Chance away from Abby isn’t worth it. Chance is staying in Genoa City and is falling in love with Abby.

Abby praises Chance for being earnest and forthright. Chance insists if he could step into a lab and create the perfect woman for him, it would be Abby. She wants to go back to Chance’s suite and plan their future all night long.

Rey finds Mariah while Faith’s in the restroom and mentions that he’s moving back in the cottage. Mariah thinks that’s great and hopes Rey will let her know if Faith or Sharon need help. Rey agrees as long as Mariah shares when she needs help, too.

After the lights are back on at Chance Comm, Billy starts to head home and finds Chelsea unconscious in the elevator. Billy shouts to Lily for help and gets his phone out to call 911.
