The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) has been a great addition to the cast, but there’s one little problem. There are too many couples on canvas and not enough single men!
Of course, the single part never stopped anybody on a soap, but it does make it easier when there’s an eligible bachelor to throw in a new character’s orbit.
Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) would’ve made perfect sense as a love interest for Sally since they’re a lot alike, but he’s on his way out. Perhaps it’s for the best since Theo and Sally probably would’ve broken each other’s hearts anyway.
Still, that leaves the issue of who to pair Sally with. Courtney Hope is a fantastic performer who has onscreen chemistry with just about anyone. There was definitely an intriguing spark in Sally’s recent scenes with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), but Y&R seems all in on Billy and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) as a couple.
Likewise, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) just got back together with Summer Newman (Hunter King), so it’ll be ridiculous if they break up again so soon. A Sally and Kyle pairing is probably inevitable at some point, but that can wait until down the road.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) might be an option since he’s looking for love, but Sally is too young and honestly not a good fit for him. Y&R might try it, but we’d much rather see Jack find someone age appropriate that he can build a real future with. Sally just isn’t that woman for Jack.
The Young and the Restless spoilers point to Jack potentially turning against Sally anyway, so maybe we should keep searching for Sally’s ideal match in town.
There’s one man you may not have thought of, but he’d actually have some things in common with Sally. What about Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic)?
Nate’s interested in Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) at the moment, but Y&R fans can expect a change of heart for Elena during the week ahead. It certainly sounds like Elena will shift gears and bail on the idea of a romance with Nate.
Elena may wind up concentrating on Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) as she tries to score a reunion.
The Young and the Restless spoilers also say Nate’s career will take another nosedive. His job will be on the line, so that could mean the hospital will consider firing him. Since Nate can’t perform surgeries, he may not be useful enough to keep around.
Consider how Nate and Sally’s storylines could be similar here. Before Sally left The Bold and the Beautiful, she was heartbroken over her ex going back to his previous love. That’s something Nate could relate to if Elena changes her mind and pursues Devon again.
Sally is also working as a lowly assistant for Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) when she desperately wants to have a fashion career she’s passionate about. It’s easy to see how Nate might relate due to his own career struggles.
There’s the potential for Sally and Nate to hit it off if Y&R will just let them cross paths.
