The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) discovery and the steps she’s taking are spreading the word. Y&R fans know Sharon recently found a lump on her breast. She did everything right by calling her doctor quickly and making an appointment. Soon after, a mammogram and ultrasound were scheduled.
In the episode airing January 9, Sharon learns the lump she found is solid and is given instructions to prepare for her biopsy. It’s important for The Young and the Restless to portray this apparent breast cancer storyline as accurately as possible. They’re taking the time to show each step as well as Sharon conquering her fear. She has to find the truth if she wants to get the treatment she needs and survive.
Sharon’s journey could certainly help any viewers who might be facing a similar situation. The Young and the Restless also released a special video message from Sharon Case. It’s great that the show’s using fiction to tackle a very real problem and hopefully raise breast cancer awareness. The earlier it’s detected, the better.

Of course, CBS Cares is also the name of the campaign that focuses on network PSAs. They work closely with experts in the necessary fields to craft concise messages and get crucial points across fast.
The CBS Cares campaign is a multimedia project, so they spread awareness in many other ways, too. It’s fantastic to see this commitment to addressing causes that might not get highlighted enough otherwise. As hard as it is to watch Sharon go through this, it’s helpful to the public and will undoubtedly provide a gripping story.
On another note, we should mention that Case filmed this video on the cottage set. It’s nice to see that set back up since you can’t really do a breast cancer storyline at a coffeehouse. Sharon will surely play some dramatic material at home with her loved ones, so Y&R fans will want to stay tuned.
