The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that there could be a surprising twist in an expected love triangle. Now we know Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) is exiting, that means Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) makes the most sense as a new love interest for Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
It looks like all the pieces are falling into place for some Sally and Kyle sparks.
Jealous Summer Newman (Hunter King) isn’t going to be happy about that, so how will she choose to handle it? Could Summer try to push Sally in someone else’s romantic direction?
Y&R fans know Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is looking for love and will gush over Sally’s reputation in front of Summer. We also know Jack’s been with younger women in the past like Kerry Johnson (Alice Hunter), so Summer’s wheels might start turning.
Maybe Summer will hope she can get something going between Sally and Kyle’s father instead! That sounds so soapy, doesn’t it? It’d also be pretty easy for Summer to do based on what we know about Sally’s history on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Sally’s been burned by man after man – all because they didn’t fully appreciate her and wound up reuniting with their exes. Summer could tell Sally all about Kyle being hung up on Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and argue that it’ll just be more of the same.
Perhaps Summer could feed Sally’s insecurities about being with a guy who’s just going to leave her somebody else. Of course, Summer has already been pushing Jack to get back in the dating game.
Summer could make a strong pitch for why Sally should choose Jack – someone who’s mature and ready to settle down with one woman only!
Perhaps Summer could even plant the idea of a Jack and Sally romance in Lauren Baldwin’s (Tracey E. Bregman) head. Lauren is quite the matchmaker as well, so she might get on board. Sally is reminiscent of a young Phyllis in some ways – a firecracker redhead who knows what she wants and goes for it.
If Summer plots to push Sally and Jack together, she might hope she can shut off Kyle’s feelings for Sally and pull off a “Skyle” reunion. Something tells us Summer’s plan might not work out if that’s the case, but she could give it her best shot.
Summer would still have Lola to worry about, but that’s better than having both Sally AND Lola circling around Kyle! We’ll fill you in as other Y&R news and updates emerge.
