The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that an old rivalry could come back into play soon. Y&R viewers know Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Justin Gaston) are excited about starting a family.
Abby’s eager to have a baby with Chance and hopefully have more kids down the road. She’s thinking three would be about right, but she obviously has to get started with one!
Of course, bad luck tends to be the norm on The Young and the Restless. In the world of daytime dramas, a woman who desperately wants a baby usually faces hurdles to get one. Meanwhile, a woman who’s SO not ready for a baby often faces an unplanned pregnancy. That’s just how soaps roll and deliver great drama.
It seems likely that Abby will have trouble conceiving a child – perhaps due to issues related to her miscarriage or even problems on Chance’s end. There could be a number of reasons why Chance and Abby have a hard time putting a bun in the oven.
While Chance and Abby keep hoping, waiting and trying, another couple on canvas might face a baby bomb without even meaning to. What if Summer Newman (Hunter King) gets a pregnancy shocker thanks to her reunion with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor)?
Now that Kyle and Summer are back on track, they could use a new challenge to tackle together. Having a baby with Kyle might put any lingering insecurities to rest for Summer.
This could be what convinces Summer that her future with Kyle is real and happening. A “Skyle” baby would cement the road they’re headed down – one that doesn’t include Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) at all.
Summer and Kyle planned to have kids eventually, so they’d just be moving up the timeline. Once Kyle and Summer had a chance to wrap their heads around the news, they’d surely be thrilled. Naturally, this would bring the opportunity for big baby announcements.
Since Kyle is an Abbott and Summer is a Newman, we’re talking about Abby’s two families. Abby would have to watch all the Newmans and Abbotts gush over pregnant Summer. There’d be questions about when Summer’s due, where she’s registered, baby shower plans, the eventual gender reveal, etc.
Abby would have to stand there and listen to all the things she wants to hear, but Summer would be the center of attention instead. This could make Abby resent Summer and even lash out.
Part of that would be due to their complicated history, but another part of it would just be Abby’s pain over infertility issues and her yearning for a baby.
