The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Tuesday, January 7 Review – Billy Lies About Amanda – Summer Calls Out Theo – Mariah Tells Tessa Go

The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Tuesday, January 7, tease that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman) will talk at her apartment while Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is out getting advice from Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). Tanner will note that he’s offering the opportunity of a lifetime, and he’ll wonder if Tessa’s girlfriend is holding her back. Tessa will explain that Mariah didn’t know that she even had an ex, which will surprise Tanner.

Tanner and Tessa will sit down and Tanner will say that they have no reason to be ashamed of their past, and that he wanted her to be his opening act to repay the favor to her – after all, she was kind to him in the past and believed in him.

As they’re talking, Mariah will walk in, and Tanner will introduce himself. Mariah will be chilly at first, but she’ll soon warm up to Tanner, who will quickly charm her.

After Tanner leaves, Tessa will say that the only thing that matters about this decision is how Mariah feels about it, but Mariah will disagree and say that she thinks Tessa should do it.

Mariah will say that she realized that Tessa probably didn’t tell her about being married because she was scared, and that while she’d miss Tessa like crazy, she needs to take this opportunity. Ultimately, Tessa will say that she needs to decide, and Mariah will agree to support her in whatever decision she reaches.

Meanwhile, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will text Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) after Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) leaves on her trip to Singapore. Billy will be happy to see Amanda already at Crimson Lights when he arrives.

He’ll sit down and they’ll start talking about why they’re friends. Billy will note that they don’t seem to have anything in common, yet she seems to understand him well. She’ll agree that she, too, feels a comfort level with him that she doesn’t share with too many people.

In conversation, Amanda will mention Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), whom Billy will say he had a relationship with but they’re now on good terms. As they chat, Sharon will come along and comment that she didn’t know Billy and Amanda knew each other.

Billy will awkwardly over-explain that Amanda represented Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and that Victoria and her family were very grateful to her.

Amanda will then way goodnight and leave, leaving Billy wondering to himself why he didn’t just acknowledge to Sharon that he and Amanda were friends. He’ll ask himself what he’s doing, and why he feels he has to hide his friendship with her.

Finally, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will bump into Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) at the Grand Phoenix. Theo will mention that it’s Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) birthday – he’ll remember the date from their partying days in New York. Summer will also know it’s Kyle’s birthday, and Theo will needle Summer about what she would have gotten Kyle if they were still together.

Summer will want Theo to let it go, but Theo will persist and continue to goad Summer about her allegedly lingering feelings for Kyle. He’ll also get a few jabs in about Kyle’s tame life these days, and Summer will turn it around on him – after all, he’s sitting in a bar drinking alone.

Theo will invite Summer upstairs to see how “tame” he really is, but she’ll balk at that.

They’ll continue bickering, with the conversation turning to why Theo decided to stay in Genoa City rather than go to Paris and work with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). Summer will say it’s clear that he decided to stay in town because of Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle).

Theo will then declare that Summer hasn’t told Kyle about his supposed interest in Lola because she secretly hopes that he’ll break them up. Ultimately, Summer will get irritated and walk away.

It certainly seems like Theo has a plan in mind to break up Kyle and Lola any way that he can, and he’d probably like to use Summer in some way to make it happen. He seems like a pretty manipulative guy, so perhaps he’ll find some way to drive a wedge between Kyle and Lola while making it seem like Summer is the real culprit.
