The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) was last seen in late November. He promised Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) that he’d track down Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers). Cane’s father later anonymously returned Devon’s inheritance and was subsequently captured by the authorities, as Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) announced. But what happened to Cane?
Y&R fans know that Goddard’s long run on Y&R ended last year, as he was taken off contract. But the scant references that have been made about Cane in the months following him leaving Genoa City, Wisconsin, have left the audience wondering where he is and whether he’ll return some day?
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lily Winters In GC And The Twins Are In College
Y&R wrote Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) out of the picture in the recent past. Khalil’s desire to spend more time with her family was the reason for her voluntary drop to recurring status. So, Lily went to prison for causing the accidental deaths of Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) and the unborn baby that she was having with Devon.
But Lily exited prison early and returned to GC. Her work with the women she was serving time with was seen as exemplary. After her release, Lily accepted a job helping released inmates transition back to society.
The twins, Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson), were most recently said to be attending college, which explains their absence. Gerry and Stevenson, like Goddard, are no longer on contract with Y&R.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – New Job Expands?
Cane took a position that was similar to the one Lily had while she was still incarcerated. He was shown meeting with clients at Crimson Lights, but that part of the storyline wasn’t given much screen time. Maybe Cane is still part of the company, but meets with people across the country?
Goddard and Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott) were briefly written together, as Cane became Traci’s muse character in the romance novel, Stolen Lockets, Broken Hearts, she wrote. The black and white, film noir type scenes Goddard and Maitland recorded were very enjoyable to watch. Surprisingly, Traci turned down Cane’s offer to pursue a relationship. In retrospect viewers could assume that this mini arc was part of Y&R’s way of allowing Goddard to work a spotlight storyline one last time.
When he was last referenced, Cane was traveling around the world on the trail of Colin. Since that effort ended months ago, fans can only assume where Cane is now?
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Cane Ashby Off-Screen Forever Or A Recurring Return?
While Goddard is fully off contract, Cane could always be written back. Another regular contract doesn’t seem likely at this time, but a recurring one could happen.
It’s possible that Cane moved near to his children. Maybe he’s with his mother, Genevieve Atkinson (Genie Francis), or has simply decided to pursue new adventures in some other part of the world. Wherever Cane is and whatever he’s doing, hopefully he’ll come back, as Goddard is missed.
