The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) romance may hit a snag. Y&R fans know they’re chugging right along at this point, but that usually means disaster’s just around the corner. At some point, The Young and the Restless will have to give Summer and Kyle a big hurdle to overcome.
What could be the source of Kyle and Summer’s inevitable drama? Y&R’s already laid the groundwork for some since they seem to be moving at different paces. Once Kyle realized he’d been fighting his feelings for Summer all this time, he was completely invested in their reunion.
Kyle basically had an epiphany and determined that Summer was the only woman for him.
As a result, Kyle doesn’t seem concerned about their reunion crashing and burning. Since they’re meant to be in Kyle’s eyes, he feels like nothing can get in their way. Of course, Kyle could get in his OWN way! He was a tad pushy with Summer about getting a place together, which she wasn’t keen on rushing.
Summer really wants to do this right. She wants to love Kyle forever, but will Kyle be patient enough to go at the pace Summer has on mind? This seems to be a pattern for Kyle, who grew frustrated when Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) wanted to wait on sleeping together for the first time.
Kyle respected that Lola was a virgin, but when pressed, Kyle basically admitted he was ready for a deeper connection.
Summer has no problems making love with Kyle anytime he pleases, but she could still face similar problems with Kyle. That’s especially true if Summer watches her parents’ reunion fail – just as she feared.
This Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) reboot won’t last, so Summer may worry that her own reunion won’t last either.
In other words, Summer’s concerns may rev up while Kyle grows impatient. Kyle might find himself wanting to move full-speed ahead while Summer keeps taking scared steps backward. Could this lead to Kyle proposing and facing a brutal rejection?
That’s the kind of thing that could break Kyle and Summer up – if only temporarily. Kyle might think Summer isn’t as committed as he is, but Summer could feel like Kyle isn’t respecting her feelings. It’d make sense as some good “Skyle” angst once Y&R returns with new episodes.
