The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there’s some great news to report about Y&R’s return to production. Fans may have heard about the show’s latest tentative restart date of July 13. The Young and the Restless has been shooting for that goal – and it turns out the plan’s moving forward.
According to Soap Opera Digest’s sources, the cast and crew will get back to work during the week of July 13-17. Naturally, there’ll be tons of changes in the way things are handled on set. The Bold and the Beautiful is already back in production and operating under all the new safety protocols. Now it’s Y&R’s turn to follow B&B’s lead.
Keeping cast and crew members safe is certainly the priority, so The Young and the Restless will have some strict rules to follow. Everyone will have to be tested regularly, and large group scenes are out. Performers will also have to keep their distance from each other, so that’ll lead to some interesting challenges as Y&R tries to find a new normal.
Of course, Y&R could use real-life partner stand-ins like B&B’s doing. They also have some actors on The Young and the Restless who are dating behind the scenes – like Bryton James (Bryton James) and Brytni Sarpy) as well as Mark Grossman (Adam Newman) and Sharon Case (Sharon Newman). There are ways to keep delivering love in the afternoon with some hard work and creativity.
The Young and the Restless will also shift toward using larger, more open sets – although that shouldn’t be a huge issue since they have some good ones. Many of Y&R’s sets like Society and The Grand Phoenix should work nicely.
Cleanliness will be a major focus at the studio as well, but everything should go smoothly as long as everyone’s diligent and prepared.
Y&R viewers are definitely eager to see the CBS soap air fresh content again – and this is the long-awaited first step. There’s no word yet on a first airdate back, but we’ll bring you updates as other news becomes available
