Big Sky Finale Recap 05/18/21: Season 1 Episode 16 "Love is a Strange and Dangerous Thing"

Tonight on ABC their new thriller by David E. Kelley, Big Sky airs with an all-new Tuesday, May 18, 2021 episode and we have your Big Sky recap below.  On tonight’s Big Sky season 1 episode 16 ‘Love is a Strange and Dangerous Thing,’ as per the ABC synopsis, “Cassie and Jenny leave the Kleinsasser women to forge their own path, ridding themselves of their ranch troubles and heading back home. Along with Jerrie and Lindor, they finally get to see Ronald behind bars, though he quickly strips them of any satisfaction by leading them on a wild goose chase, straight into the arms of the syndicate.

A brutal battle ensues, clearing a path for Scarlet and Ronald to escape, but while they run off into the sunset Jenny risks her life to save Cassie’s. Is this the end for our dynamic duo? Only time will tell.

The episode begins with Ronald and Scarlett in the basement of Mary’s home, they share a romantic kiss. He tells her to listen to him and do exactly what he says. There is a hard drive taped underneath the bathroom sink at home, he has a plan. Mark busts open the door upstairs and shout out to Ronald that he has a warrant for his arrest. Ronald whispers in Scarlett’s ear a name, John Milton, he tells her to call him up and tell him that he ate the fruit.

He tells her that love is a strange and dangerous thing, a ring of fire and they must jump through it. She takes off his wig, he takes off his glasses. They go upstairs and Ronald takes Scarlett, hostage, little do they know, she is in on it. She throws herself at Mark while Ronald runs, but in the kitchen, he finds Jerrie with a gun pointed at him and she asks him if he misses her.

Jenny is Cassie is at Kleinsasser’s house, sheriff Wagy is being arrested, Cassie tells him to enjoy the ride. Jenny tells Tubb that when he searches the ranch, he is going to find more bodies, the whole place is a crime scene. Tubb gets a call, he tells Jenny there is a break in the Pergman case.

Ronald is in the car with Mark, he tells him that he needs to see a doctor, and he says there are many things he can be helpful with.

At Kleinsasser’s home, Margaret gives him some pills and asks him if he remembers the day they got married. He remembers that it rained. She says her mother spent three weeks making that dress, she was so happy and so happy. Her mother poked her when she pinned the lace on her dress and told her she was making the mistake of her life. Horst is having some kind of attack, he signals to Margaret to give him some water, but she won’t she backs away from him.

He tries to get up and falls on the floor, Cheyenne comes down the stairs and she sees what is going on. She stands over him and watches him die and says she gave him everything and she has nothing left to give him. Horst is dead. Cheyenne kneels down near her mother and tells her it is over. Margaret says it is time to clean up. The two women walk out of the room together.
Jerrie tells Cassie and Jenny that she can’t believe they got him. Cassie tells her to get some rest while they make him pay for what he did. Mark says Scarlett is in the station, he is going to get a statement and let her go, she is pretty rattled considering. She told Mark that she thought his name was Arthur.

They sit with Scarlett, she says Ronald told her that he killed Steve, he went on and on that, he was following her. Mark says they believe that Ronald kidnapped her sister. Scarlett asks if she is dead, Mark says he doesn’t know. Mark tells her to go home and be with her daughter, they will pick this up later.

Jenny is having a hard time believing Scarlett. Scarlett leaves the station and runs home, she finds the hard drive, that says on it “property of the Big Rick,” and hooks it up to her computer. She scrolls through the file and finds John Milton’s phone number and address. She writes it down.

Jenny is at home with her son, she tells him that it is over and he is going to die in prison. He can tell that something is on her mind, she says the case made her realize that so much has changed since his father died and she has not been there for him.

Mark is looking at Ronald and asks him what he wants. Ronald tells him to practice kindness with him, and perhaps he will return the favor. Ronald wants him to play the song, “Chances” by Johnny Mathis, and tomorrow he will tell him what it means to him. Ronald lays down with his hands on his chest. Meanwhile, Scarlett makes the call, she says she ate the fruit, the man who answers transfers the call, and she gets “your call cannot be completed as dialed.”

Cassie is at the stables, Mark is there and says good morning. He says he figured they could carpool, save gas. He tells her that she is difficult to know, but here he is trying his luck. She says maybe when this Ronald thing is over they can try to have a drink. She says he is not going to give them anything, he says he bets he will, he loves to talk.

Jenny arrives in the office, Jerrie tells her that she slept very well last night. Cheyenne shows up, she brings Nicole some cupcakes and tells her that her father is dead. She says they don’t know, they woke up and he was dead on the floor, they don’t know how he died. She tells her that they should celebrate, she cleared Blake’s name. Cheyenne says she owes her one and she always has a place to stay.

Scarlett is in the house, the fire alarm is buzzing because the toast is burning. Her daughter asks her if she is sad because of Ronald’s secret. She saw him burying something on the camping trip, he said it was a dear, but it didn’t look like a dear. Scarlett gets a text, “secure the hard drive and standby.” Meanwhile, Cassie, Jenny, and Mark are in front of Ronald. He says he has some requests first. He wants the death penalty off the table. Ronald tells them that he is going to return the kindness to Mark, he writes in blood, from his bandaged hand, KELL on the table.

Scarlett hears a knock at the door, a trooper named Dewey forces himself inside her house and asks her for the hard drive. In the police station, Ronald says that Kelly was his special one. He says there were so many, he would write down their name and one special thing about them. Jenny asks him where Mary is. Ronald says if they find Kelly, they might find Mary, and more, it could be a jackpot. Ronald says he has to show them where Mary is.

Dewey takes the hard drive, he pulls out his gun, she tells him that Ronald made a copy and it is in his storage locker. Dewey shows him a photo of her daughter on his phone, he tells her that he already made arrangements for her.

Jerrie is looking into Scarlett online and her records are expunged, it is weird.

Mark has Ronald ready and goes to put him in a vehicle. Jenny says she doesn’t trust any of this, Ronald says it is a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

They drive off in a convoy of vehicles. Ronald says Rick Legarski was a music guy and he has a brother, a twin and when they know each other better, he will tell them more fun facts.

Denise calls Jenny and Cassie, she tells them that Scarlett’s records have been erased. But whoever did forget to remove the copies in the other departments and they were able to find one. Scarlett had a stint in a mental institution when she was 16 for the criminally insane. Jenny knew something with Scarlett was off.

Dewey drops off Scarlett on the side of the road, there is a van, he tells her the keys are inside and she is to stay there. He smashes her cell phone and gives her another one, tells her to use that one from now on.

Ronald leads them to a building, inside there are wooden doors that are locked, They open it up and Kelly is inside, she is dead, he tells them that she was his secret heart. Mark tells Ronald that he is tired of playing games, the road trip is over.

Jenny and Cassie say this is too easy, Ronald wouldn’t voluntarily give up his secrets. Mark is on the way back to the station, Cassie is in the car, Ronald is singing, “Chances Are.” All of a sudden a tow truck pushes them off the road, the vehicle turns over and comes to a stop. Two masked gunmen with machine guns start shooting at them. Cassie is not paying attention. Ronald and tries to choke her with the seat belt, he tells her that she doesn’t learn. Jenny shoots one of the gunmen. The other one grabs Ronald, Jenny shouts “Hey” as he is about to shoot Cassie, the guy shoots Jenny instead right in the chest.

Ronald is driven to Scarlett, he hugs her, they say they missed each other. They abandon the tow truck and leave in the van. The man tells them they have new passports, IDs for their new identity, and clothes in the back. They have a three-hour drive. She says they have to get Phoebe, he says it is too messy and not his call. She tells him to turn around, she tells Ronald she can’t do this. Ronald leans forward and tries to strangle the guy while Scarlett holds the steering wheel.

Cassie wants to go to the hospital with jenny, she says no, go get him.

Ronald and Scarlett dump the body. We see Cassie, she grabs one of the machine guns, and one of the bad guy’s cell phones that has the name John Milton with a phone number, she takes one of the police vehicles and leaves.

We see Ronald and Scarlett smiling and holding hands.
