In tonight’s Coroner episode, a little girl hiding witnesses something awful happen involving a security guard. The assailant doesn’t see her. Meanwhile, Donovan must start radiation. He gets a call to a scene. He arrives with Jenny arriving soon after. They find the body of a security guard. They talk with the contractor on the job. He tells them about the property being stolen lately. He wants to keep this quiet.
Jenny assesses the body. The security guard, a male, has two bullet holes in his chest. His name is Lester. Donovan and Abed head to Lester’s home where they meet the real Lester. Across the city, the little girl calls her dad, as she seems to be hiding out still.
Donovan reports back to Jenny. They realize the victim has a fake security uniform on. He also has a fake ID on him. They head back to the scene to replay possible scenarios. They find spray paint and realize they are looking for a graffiti artist. They head to a local paint shop. The shop owner is no help. Donovan talks to a customer while Jenny buys paint. The customer wants to show them something.
Liam continues to work at the stables while Jenny’s son works to learn massage therapy and deal with the challenges of this new job in a pandemic.
Jenny and Donovan are shown some street art by the customer. It could be from their guy. They head back to the morgue where they look at him again. They see he was struck by lightning and survived. They reach out to the local hospitals and find their guy.
The little girl is at home when she hears someone at the door. She hides. Later, Donovan and Jenny arrive at the apartment. Someone broke in. They look around and realize a little girl lives there. The vic had a daughter. They gather she saw something and now she is on the run. Her name is Ruby and she is 13. They look around the house and discover paperwork. Her mom’s in the hospital.
Jenny’s dad walks through the woods looking at birds with a lady friend. Jenny arrives at the hospital to meet Ruby’s mom and look for Ruby. She isn’t there but Jenny sees a picture. She has an idea. Maybe Ruby is on the roof of her building as that is what someone drew. Meanwhile, Abed shows Donovan a sketch of the man who kicked down Ruby’s door. A neighbor supplied details.
On the roof, Ruby is approached by a man wearing a security guard uniform. She is scared. Luckily, Donovan and Jenny show up. Donovan cuffs the man. They find a gun in his car and more evidence. Jenny helps Ruby finish a mural she has been creating for her mom. Later, Ruby shows her mom from the hospital.
Donovan poses in his clothes for the customer in the paint store. They kiss.
