Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, May 20 Recap – Claire Shuts Down Ben’s Ciara Ambush – Belle Attacks Shawn

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for Thursday, May 20, reveals that Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) shut down Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) ambush of Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) while Belle Brady (Martha Madison) attacked Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) to dupe Jan Spears (Heather Lindell).

At the Horton house, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) informed Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) was moving in.

“Like hell she is!” Julie shouted. She was appalled to learn Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) was OK with it and wondered how Jack could possibly allow Gwen to stay there after everything she’d done to Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller).

Julie ranted about Gwen falsely accusing Abigail of causing her miscarriage and didn’t like the fact that Jack was taking Gwen’s side over Abigail’s. However, Jack didn’t see it that way and defended Gwen’s presence at the house.

After Julie left on Thursday’s Days episode, Gwen admitted she was right – and so was Abigail. Jack could tell Gwen was holding back, so she confessed that she lied and that Abigail didn’t push her down the stairs.

Gwen explained that Abigail chased her down the hall and grabbed her wrist, so Gwen fell back and tumbled when she pulled away.

Gwen insisted she could find somewhere else to live, but Jack wouldn’t have it. He responded with compassion and felt confident things would work out with Abigail in time.

Jack assured Gwen that she wasn’t alone anymore before Gwen’s phone chimed. She remembered her follow-up appointment with Dr. Clay Snyder (Michael Lowry), so Jack said he’d get the rest of her stuff moved in while she was gone.

At the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s DOOL episode, Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) talked to Chad about Kate Roberts DiMera’s (Lauren Koslow) condition before Abigail appeared.

Abigail revealed that she was leaving Salem and would be spending some time in Boston with Jennifer. Gabi was outraged over Abigail letting Gwen push her out of town, but Abigail’s mind was made up.

Nevertheless, Chad tried to change Abigail’s mind anyway. He assured Abigail that he believed she didn’t mean for Gwen to fall and lose her child, so Abigail was thankful to him for saying so.

However, Abigail had to admit that she wanted that baby gone from the moment she found out about it – and now that baby was indeed gone.

Although Abigail didn’t push Gwen, she felt like Chad must blame her and suggested that he looked at her like a stranger. Abigail confessed that she looked in the mirror and felt the same way. She had let Gwen turn her into someone she didn’t want to be.

At Julie’s Place, Julie found out from Gabi that Abigail was leaving town. Gabi and Julie were surprised to find they were on the same side about Gwen, but they agreed this didn’t change the war between them.

Afterward, Julie reconvened with Jack and insisted Gwen had finally pulled off her goal of tearing apart the family. She revealed that Abigail was leaving Salem because of her half-sister.

At Gwen’s follow-up appointment with Dr. Snyder, he admitted he’d been looking over her records – which indicated her two visits on the same day. Dr. Snyder recalled how he’d agreed not to say anything to her family, but that was before he knew Gwen would blame Abigail.

The doc saw the story on the front page of The Intruder and pointed out that they both knew Gwen lost the baby before the fall. Dr. Snyder suggested he wasn’t sure he was comfortable keeping quiet about it.

Gwen looked nervous as Dr. Snyder dropped a major hint about his plans to blackmail her.

At the police station on Thursday’s Days episode, Jan hoped DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) wasn’t having doubts about Belle’s guilt. Trask assured Jan that she had no doubts whatsoever, but Belle was still entitled to be out on bail.

A call came in about the recorded hypnosis session, which the judge deemed admissible. Jan made it clear that Trask had better not mess this up for her since she fully intended to be with Shawn.

In the town square, Belle was glum over her upcoming trial, but Shawn had a plan to trick Jan into confessing. Belle thought the plan was ridiculous at first, but she ultimately got on board just in time for Jan to saunter over.

After Belle ranted about her own husband thinking she was a coldblooded killer, she insisted she wasn’t some perp. Shawn acted like he thought Belle was guilty and pretended to be upset that she’d taken the law into her own hands.

When Shawn stuck to the evidence and reminded Belle that she lied to him about cheating in the past, Belle threw her drink at him and stormed off.

Jan was quick to comfort Shawn, who felt he was all alone now after all the sacrifices he’d made for Belle. “As long as I’m around, you’ll never be alone,” Jan insisted – and she planted a big kiss on Shawn moments later.

Belle then ran into Trask, who taunted her over the recording and said they’d have to let a jury decide her fate. Meanwhile, Ben found Claire at home and revealed that Ciara had sent him divorce papers.

Ben wanted to go to Johannesburg, look Ciara in the eyes and tell her there was no way this was happening.

Although Ben was tired of Ciara viewing him as an out-of-control psycho, Claire felt he’d be proving Ciara’s point if he flew to see her. Claire thought Ben would just push Ciara even further away and argued that ambushing Ciara wasn’t the answer.

That said, it broke Claire’s heart to see Ben so devastated. Claire cried over Ben’s pain and felt he had to let Ciara go for a little while – they both did. After Ben wiped away a tear on Claire’s cheek, she pulled him in for a passionate kiss.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Ben will hold out hope for a future with Ciara, which is good since she’s coming back to DOOL down the road! CDL will have tons of other hot Days of Our Lives spoilers, news and updates to read up on, so stop by often.
