Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that some clues have us wondering: Will Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) dissociative identity disorder return? Could Abigail’s new film role and Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) secret exposure trigger a DID setback?
Abigail brought up her DID as a reason why she’d be good for the part Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) offered.
Abigail was once in a position similar to possessed Marlena since she wasn’t in control of her thoughts and actions when she faced those DID struggles.
The devil is currently fighting for full control of Marlena – though Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) is the only one in the loop on that horrible truth for now.
Marlena will eventually face a total takeover and will have no choice but to do whatever the devil tells her.
The real Marlena has had moments where she’s been able to push through, but that won’t be the case for long.
Since Abigail is playing Marlena in this possession movie, it makes sense that the show might want to do something similar with her.
However, it seems like the devil is mainly interested in wreaking havoc using Marlena’s mind and body.
If Days follows up on that mention of Abigail’s DID, it could offer a different spin on the same situation.
Abigail could still end up doing things that are quite out of character, but her actions would be prompted by another spell of DID instead of the devil controlling her every move.
DOOL faced criticism when Abigail slept with Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) while suffering from dissociative identity disorder, but would that stop them from going down the same road with EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel)?
Abigail had a conversation with Johnny about her old affair with EJ not too long ago, so that could’ve been in preparation for some sort of steamy reunion.
It makes sense from a drama standpoint to let Abigail fall back into bed with EJ or at least come close.
Of course, Days might get around the Stefan issue by having EJ not pick up on the DID.
EJ might think Abigail is simply attracted to him like she was before.
Abigail’s bound to be bitter and not quite herself after Gwen’s secret is revealed, so personality changes could be chalked up to how furious she is.
Gwen lied about the timing of her miscarriage, so that exposure could even play a role in Abigail snapping again.
Regardless, it’d be interesting to see possessed Marlena going haywire while DID-suffering Abigail went off the rails, too.
Abigail could debut some new identities and cause plenty of chaos around Salem.
