General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) plan is a risky one – perhaps even riskier than she thinks it is! Britt and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) both understand that Peter August (Wes Ramsey) is an extremely dangerous man.
That’s why Maxie and Britt are on board with doing whatever it takes to keep Baby Lou out of Peter’s grasp.
Maxie is prepared to fake her newborn daughter’s death when the time comes, but Britt didn’t like her suggestions about letting Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) or Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) offer temporary refuge.
Britt’s right that those would be some of the first places Peter looked if he suspected something and wanted to find his little girl.
With that in mind, Britt has offered an alternative strategy. She plans to find someone willing to take the baby in temporarily.
Britt intends to make sure this person understands this isn’t an adoption and that the child will have to be returned to her rightful mother eventually.
Britt also doesn’t want to reveal the identity of this person to Maxie since it’ll offer her more protection from Peter that way. Let’s break down the flaws in Britt’s plan and focus on the risks here.
Since Britt pointed out this person would understand it’s not an adoption, it feels like a setup for the temporary parent to try to keep the baby. Why else would GH writers concentrate on that part?
They could’ve just had Britt say she’d find someone to take the baby in temporarily and left it at that.
Of course, we should also point out that Britt may be the only person who knows where to find Baby Lou. Britt suggested she was willing to take the secret to the grave! This is troubling since Britt has offered plenty of hints about the seemingly deadly illness she’s battling.
Doesn’t all this seem awfully risky? To hand Maxie’s baby over to some unknown person – perhaps someone who will decide she wants to keep the baby – all while Maxie has no idea where her daughter is?
If Britt dies, then the secret dies with her. That’s not ideal since Maxie’s going to want her daughter back sooner or later. Once Peter is in prison or dead, Maxie will be free to raise her little girl. That can’t happen if Maxie doesn’t know where to find her.
Naturally, Britt doesn’t necessarily have to die for this part of the story. Britt could just as easily fall into a coma or even end up held captive somewhere. GH writers can come up with another way to keep Britt out of this if they decide not to kill her off.
Whatever the case, it’s a bad idea for Britt and the temporary guardian of this baby to be the only ones who know the truth. If Britt can’t spill, General Hospital spoilers say this person may decide to keep Baby Lou forever.
It seems obvious Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will be the one Britt recruits to hide Baby Lou right under Peter’s nose. Britt is already suspicious, so it won’t be long until she realizes Brook Lynn isn’t really pregnant and could easily hide a baby in plain sight.
What happens if Britt dies or is somehow taken out of the picture? Brook Lynn might grow attached to this baby and decide she wants to keep playing the mommy role. There’s the potential for some exciting drama in this storyline, so we’ll offer updates as other GH news comes in.
