General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) may have offered a clue about Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) return and their chance at a romantic reunion. GH fans know Carly’s going through a lot right now thanks to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) Nixon Falls relationship.
It was hard when Carly realized the real reason Sonny had been so protective of Nina. It was even harder to hear that Sonny fell in love with Nina during their time together – especially since he obviously can’t seem to let go now.
However, Carly is a bit of a hypocrite since she can’t let go of Jason either.
Jason will always own a little piece of Carly’s heart, which Sonny seems to have accepted. That doesn’t diminish Carly’s love for Sonny, but it was telling that Carly kept calling out to Jason in the December 30 episode.
Carly cried alone as she spoke Jason’s name aloud and wondered where he was.
Carly asked Jason why wasn’t there with her, so that was an intriguing moment for the writers to include.
Carly could’ve said something about how unfair it was that Jason was taken from her – or maybe she could’ve asked Jason why he had to leave her so soon.
In other words, Carly could’ve made comments that were more in line with Jason’s fatal outcome.
Instead, Carly was asking where he was and why he wasn’t there. The answer’s supposed to be dead under a pile of rubble, but Carly made it seem like Jason was still out there somewhere.
It suggests that Carly still hasn’t given up hope on Jason’s survival, which means fans shouldn’t give up hope either.
Sonny has Nina as a backup option if things fall apart completely with Carly, so he’ll be fine in terms of having a love story that carries on.
Carly needs a backup option, too – and she’d have one if Jason miraculously returned from the dead.
It might lead to Jason and Carly being tempted to reunite romantically.
If Steve Burton changes his mind about complying with the vaccine mandate, he might work out a new deal with the show and make Jason’s comeback happen. Stranger things have happened at the ABC soap!
Whatever the case, there have been some interesting Jason hints lately. Carly’s latest one suggests Jason might still come home one day – and when he does, perhaps he’ll consider being a couple with Carly again.
