General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will battle her nerves ahead of one last grilling session about Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) death.
GH fans know Carly initially took Jasper “Jax” Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) advice and covered up the fact that she was with Nelle at the time of her cliff fall.
Jax thought the authorities would want to take Carly down based on her history with Nelle and the fact that Carly is a Corinthos. Now that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) has overheard the real story, she’s demanding that Carly be arrested on murder charges.
Of course, it seems like quite a leap to go from not doing enough to save Nelle to full-blown murder. Nina wants Carly to pay, but there’s clearly no evidence that Carly killed Nelle that night. It seems impossible to make any charges like that stick, but Jax’s initial concerns remain.
Carly is indeed a Corinthos and that makes her a police target. There’s also the matter of Carly’s old rivalry with Nelle – and the fact that Carly went on record saying she wasn’t sorry Nelle was dead.
When you throw in the cover-up, it’s easy to see why Carly would still be concerned going into this upcoming interrogation.
At the very least, Carly could be charged for lying to the cops and obstruction of justice. General Hospital spoilers say Carly will be summoned for this crucial meeting with the feds to determine her fate.
Carly will find out whether new charges are coming down or whether the feds are just going to leave this case in the past.
Since Nina already has a backup revenge plot lined up, we’d say Carly will get off the hook. That’s only going to further convince Nina that Carly gets away with everything.
This outcome might be a surprise but it should intensify Nina’s anger and force her to rely on more drastic measures to the justice she’s promised Nelle.
It’s a better story if Nina goes after revenge herself with Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) help, especially since Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) already has a prison storyline coming up.
Carly’s story needs to be something else – and that means Nina will have to find other strategies to make Carly’s life as miserable as possible.
Carly should remain a free woman, but she certainly won’t be free of Nina’s wrath! That’s just getting started, so Carly will grow increasingly concerned about what’s in store.
General Hospital spoilers for the week of February 22-26 hint that Carly will worry about what Nina intends to do next. That lines up with Carly avoiding real charges and knowing Nina’s still going to be coming for her.
