General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, August 23 – Nina Must Get Rid of Maxie – Laura’s Fast Exit – Sam’s Drew Plane Crash Info

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Monday, August 23, tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will realize she must get rid of Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) while Laura Collins (Genie Francis) gets a fast exit strategy. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will also seek info related to Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) plane crash, so let’s talk about what’s coming up.

First, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) will assure Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) that he’s willing to wait as long as it takes for her, but she just won’t think she can keep up the ruse any longer.

Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) tried to give Willow a nudge toward telling the truth, but she rushed off to tell Michael she couldn’t take it anymore instead.

Willow will get ready to make a confession knowing it’s going to be one of the most difficult things she’s ever done.

However, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) will be busy grilling Chase since she just caught him walking.

Brook Lynn will soon realize Chase has an important document in his hand as well, so she’ll insist that he’ll tell her the truth if he values her friendship.

Chase found proof that Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) wanted his will changed, so he may confess to Brook Lynn and at least give her a heads-up on what’s coming.

Even if Brook Lynn tries to convince Chase to keep his mouth shut, he won’t want to hide this – and he couldn’t anyway since he already left Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) a message.

In the meantime, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) will wonder what he can give Austin to walk away from his claim.

Although Ned will offer a substantial amount of cash, Austin will stick to his goal and hope he can earn a seat at the ELQ table. He’ll want the respect and power that he feels was owed to his father.

Over with Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), she’ll quiz Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) about how things are going with Sam.

Dante will probably urge Olivia to back off and let him handle his own love life, but she’ll hope their spark turns into something special.

In the meantime, Sam will think Anna might be able to help her. She’ll find Anna and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) near the Metro Court pool, so this will be a good opportunity to do some Drew research.

Sam will hope to score more information on the plane crash that supposedly killed Drew.

Since Sam now believes Drew is alive, she’ll want to go over the evidence and perhaps look for clues that could lead her to where Drew actually is now.

Anna will agree to get the case file for Sam and hopefully put her on the path to the truth.

Speaking of the truth, that’s exactly what Nina will want to keep under wraps in Nixon Falls.

Maxie just arrived at The Tan-O out of the blue, so Nina’s already in panic mode.

Maxie may admit she’s ready to head home from Texas, but she just had to come see what was so alluring about the famous Nixon Falls that Nina’s so drawn to.

Nina will surprise Maxie by trying to get rid of her almost right away.

“I’m sorry, Maxie, but you have to leave now,” Nina says in Monday’s preview video. That earns an eyebrow raise from Maxie, who surely thought she’d get a warm welcome.

While Nina works to get Maxie out of there before she spots Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), there’ll be some Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) drama going on back in Port Charles.

Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) looked like he’d seen a ghost after receiving a mysterious phone call – and he soon showed up at Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) place to warn his sister of trouble.

On Monday’s episode, Laura will talk to Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) about some disturbing news.

Cyrus is no doubt up to no good again, so he may prove his reach extends far beyond prison walls. There’s even the possibility of an escape despite Cyrus landing in a maximum-security penitentiary.

Regardless, Laura will ask if she gets a choice here. That could mean Jordan will push for Laura to go into protective custody somewhere safe.

Since we know Genie Francis is taking a lengthy summer break from GH, that’d be an easy way to explain Laura’s absence.

Perhaps there’s been some credible threat that leads Jordan to believe Laura is in genuine danger.

Laura may have no choice but to stay elsewhere until the Cyrus storm has passed – which should be sometime this fall since that’s when Genie Francis will return.

General Hospital spoilers say some Cyrus shockers are still to come, so stay tuned.
