General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) could get too close during a pub revamp mission. This could bring some blast-from-the-past bar bonding – just like old times!
Back when Sonny was living as “Mike” in Nixon Falls, he was perfectly content with his life as a bartender. Sonny fell hard for Nina, who fell hard for him, too. Of course, The Tan-O served as the backdrop for Sonny and Nina’s blooming love.
There were plenty of warm moments shared as Nina connected with “Mike” at Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) and Lenny Caulfield’s (Rif Hutton) bar.
Now that The Tan-O has burned down and Phyllis is looking for a fresh start, Sonny’s eager to convince her to stay in Port Charles.
During the week of November 8-12, Sonny will present the offer of Charlie’s Pub and urge Phyllis to let this serve as a new beginning. Naturally, Sonny may insist Phyllis can make her own mark on the place.
Sonny was just getting started on The Tan-O’s renovations when it went up in flames, so he may want to do a little revamp of Charlie’s to make sure it fits with Phyllis’ vision. Meanwhile, Nina will worry she won’t be welcome at the pub from now on.
Although Nina will feel a bit uncomfortable about continuing to be a patron, Phyllis certainly won’t try to ban her from the pub. She still cares about Nina and may want her help instead.
Sonny will defer to whatever Phyllis wants when it comes to this bar, so there’s the potential for Sonny and Nina to come together on a project.
It’s just tough to imagine GH writers passing up the chance to recreate Nina and Sonny’s love story somewhat.
Whether they end up overseeing a revamp of the pub or just checking out the changes that have been made, there should be some close pub moments for Sonny and Nina.
Depending on how much Sonny softens toward Nina in the coming weeks, another dance between them might be an option. Perhaps it could be something Nina and Sonny do to humor Phyllis.
That’s also something Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) would find incredibly inappropriate, so imagine her surprise if she witnessed it!
Regardless, Sonny and Nina will find reasons to interact through Phyllis and what should turn into a joint pub mission.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny’s “Mike” side hasn’t fully gone away, so that part of himself will grow closer to Nina again soon.
