General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will learn Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is alive – and the first hint about that could come through a shocking phone call. Sam will indeed get an unnerving call that brings disbelief and a plea for Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) help.
GH fans know Sam’s been on the hunt for Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) with Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore), but a phone call from Hayden wouldn’t leave Sam in disbelief.
It’s that disbelief part that seemingly points to Drew’s comeback storyline since Sam currently believes Drew is dead.
Of course, the phone call may not be from Drew himself.
We’ll soon see that Drew’s being held captive in a foreign prison, so he may not be in a position where he can reach out to Sam.
However, someone might find out Drew’s alive and think the mother of his child needs to know.
Maybe Sam will get some sort of anonymous tip that leads her to believe Drew survived the plane crash and is being held somewhere against his will.
Whatever the case, Curtis was a friend of Drew’s and is certainly a friend of Sam’s as well.
Shawn is committed to tracking down Hayden and figuring out who shot her, so Sam may think it’s best to bring Curtis in as backup for the new case.
Curtis is out of the PI business, but he’d no doubt tackle a new investigation if it meant saving Drew and bringing him home.
Finding Drew will be no easy task, so Sam’s going to need all the help she can get.
It looks like this could be the start of a long and winding story that could ultimately lead to Drew and Sam reuniting in more ways than one.
There’s certainly the potential for a rekindled Drew and Sam romance down the road, but locating Drew has to come first.
Drew’s rescue could become Sam’s priority once more facts come to light, so don’t miss what’s in store.
