General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) memories of Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) could come next. Will Lenny Caulfield’s (Rif Hutton) death help this father remember the pain of losing his son? There are some good reasons to think it might, so let’s talk about them.
Sonny recently had a memory of giving Mike Corbin (Max Gail) his blessing to let go. After finding that cap at New York Methodist Hospital, Sonny recalled his own voice as he prepared for Mike’s death.
It was no doubt the first of many memories that’ll flood back for Sonny, so we should consider what memory might be coming next.
Sonny will need something else to trigger another piece of his past. GH fans know Lenny is in terrible shape thanks to his bad heart and cancer diagnosis. Despite the treatment options Lenny has, his chances of surviving very long are slim.
Sonny will likely have to deal with the blow of losing Lenny down the road, so that could bring plenty of grief and help Sonny remember losing someone else.
As Sonny attends Lenny’s funeral and tries to find a way to say goodbye, Sonny might think back on trying to say goodbye to Morgan.
Even if Sonny can’t quite put it all together, he may realize he lost somebody else who was important to him in his old life.
Sonny might even be able to nail down that it was his beloved son, though further details might be murky.
If so, Sonny may feel like he needs to be there for the family he left behind. Knowing his family already lost Morgan could leave Sonny eager to track them down and ease their pain.
As Sonny mourns Lenny and potentially reflects on Morgan’s demise, he may determine that he’s being cruel to put his own loved ones through the sorrow of his presumed death.
This might lead to Sonny searching for real answers, so Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) could have quite a problem on her hands!
