General Hospital Spoilers: Tuesday, December 28 Recap – Obrecht’s New Man for Britt – Sonny Chases Crying Carly

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 28, reveals that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) wanted a new man for Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) while Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) chased crying Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to explain his actions.

On the stand, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) was forced to testify that she heard Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) say the love she found in Nixon Falls was the purest she’d ever known.

Willow recalled how Nina said “Mike” felt the same way, so Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) suggested it was telling that Sonny didn’t press charges after his memories returned.

DA Sheridan (David Jahn) took his turn with Willow and got her to admit she never talked to Sonny about his relationship with Nina personally.

The DA wondered if Willow thought Nina’s feelings for Sonny motivated her to commit this fraud, but Willow insisted she wasn’t inside Nina’s head.

However, Willow did acknowledge that “Mike” was single and available to Nina whereas Sonny had a wife and family.

Once Willow was done, she rushed out of the courtroom with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) not far behind.

Willow was apologetic over the truth coming out like this, but Michael was curious why she kept it from him at all.

After Willow said Nina convinced her to keep quiet, Michael argued that Willow played right into her hands. He felt confident Nina wanted to drop the bomb like this.

After Sonny was called back up to the stand, he confirmed that Willow told the truth. “We had a relationship, and we ended up falling in love,” Sonny said about Nina.

When asked if he thought he was the victim of a crime, Sonny admitted he didn’t.

Scott thought that without a victim, no crime had been committed. DA Sheridan disagreed and thought the fact that Nina deceived Sonny in this manner only added to the depravity.

The judge took a recess to review everything, so Carly ran off as Sonny followed.

Nina called out she didn’t want this and confronted Scott, who felt he was saving his client from prison.

As Sonny appeared, Michael voiced his confusion and outrage. “What the hell, Dad?!” Michael exclaimed.

However, Sonny insisted he’d make this right and followed Carly outside. He wanted a chance to explain, but crying Carly wondered if she’d be listening to “Mike,” Sonny or someone else completely.

When Nina appeared in the hallway of the courthouse, Michael and Willow glared at her. Willow then angrily demanded to know if Nina used her.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) babysat Leo Falconeri (Easton Rocket Sweda) while Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) were getting Leo’s evaluation results.

Chase and Brook Lynn spoke in vague superhero terms to discuss their fake co-parenting situation, which Chase felt would lead to BLQ’s heroic sacrifice.

When Chase called Brook Lynn out on being grumpy lately, she said she was just frustrated with the situation and shut down the idea of boundaries or extra space.

At GH, Ned gave Olivia a pep talk before they joined the doctor, who confirmed that Leo had autism spectrum disorder.

The doctor suggested Olivia and Ned should think of this like a road trip with detours and discoveries along the way. He answered some questions about the journey ahead for Leo and how the goal was still to give him the best life possible.

Olivia was feeling overwhelmed in the aftermath of the diagnosis, but Ned stayed strong for her. They agreed their love for Leo wouldn’t change and were ready to go home to him.

In Britt’s office, she wasn’t pleased by Liesl’s belated Christmas gift. Liesl had signed Britt up for some pretentious matchmaking service, which Britt clearly wasn’t interested in.

Nevertheless, Obrecht thought that there was no use in pining for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) now that he was gone.

Liesl wanted Britt to learn from her example since she bonded with Scott while mourning the loss of Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth).

Since Obrecht found love in a time of grief, she suggested Britt could, too. Talk eventually turned to Nina, who fell in love with Sonny in Nixon Falls.

Liesl delivered that shocker to Britt, who felt Carly would unleash her wrath.

When Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) met up with Stella Henry (Vernee Watson), he wanted to know everything there was to know about Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett).

Stella found out about Marshall volunteering to play his clarinet at the hospital for Christmas and thought that sounded like something he would do.

Stella reflected on some stories that painted Marshall as a generous father with a great love for music.

Stella admitted to meeting with Marshall privately not too long ago and thought Curtis should talk to Marshall, too. Stella suggested Curtis could start small and go from there.

At The Invader, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow got the grand tour from Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore), who learned Marshall was alive and hoping to connect with his family.

Shawn agreed with Curtis about not trusting Marshall, but he knew the past could be complicated and felt TJ was entitled to his own feelings.

Marshall showed up hoping to generate interest through The Invader’s arts and culture reporter. After TJ introduced Shawn to Marshall, Shawn extended his hand.

“I have no intention of shaking hands with the man responsible for my son Thomas’ death!” Robert snapped.

TJ insisted that wasn’t fair and defended the shooting as self-defense. Robert still went on a tirade, but Shawn said he had no choice since Tommy wasn’t in his right mind at the time.

TJ added that what happened wasn’t Tommy’s fault nor was it Shawn’s. Marshall softened and felt it was his fault instead.

Marshall thought he should’ve been there to help his son through his PTSD and acknowledged that he was a dad who couldn’t protect his son.

Once Marshall was in his hotel room, he made a cryptic call to someone about progress and protocol.

Soon after, Curtis showed up at the door ready to hash things out with his father.
