General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Friday, August 20, teases that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will face a sad goodbye and help Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) deal with one, too. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will also be jealous while Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) sees through Trina Robinson’s (Sydney Mikayla) act. Here’s what viewers can look forward to on Friday’s show.
At the Metro Court pool, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will be taken aback when someone flirts with her unexpectedly.
It seems Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) will be the guy who shoots his shot, but will he be legitimately interested or just messing with Valentin?
Martin has already pushed Valentin to spill the details of his tricky relationship with Anna, so this might be another way of giving him a nudge.
Valentin will quiz Martin to make sure he knows Anna is off-limits, but Martin may think Valentin needs to put a little more effort into scoring the woman he wants.
As for Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), she’ll invite somebody to share his or her opinion.
There’ll be more tension about Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) looming offer to Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth), which will soon be rejected.
Brook Lynn will also find herself battling suspicions about Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and the secrets he’s keeping.
Chase is indeed hiding some things since he intends to help Austin score the documents he needs – plus, he’s keeping Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in the dark on what he discovered at the gatehouse.
An oblivious Willow will assure Chase that nothing has changed, but he’ll offer a response of doubt. Chase knows Willow isn’t being honest about the nature of their relationship, so he’ll remain irritated in some ways and wistful in others.
There’ll be a bittersweet conversation between Chase and Willow, so we’ll see if Chase ultimately takes a few steps and sets up what he knows will end the marriage.
As for Michael, he’ll continue to fret over the pain that’s coming for Chase and the excruciating waiting game in the meantime.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is aware there’s a more than friendly bond between Michael and Willow, so she’ll push her son to get whatever he needs to off his chest.
Carly will have some news of her own to share since she’s finally set a wedding date. She’ll spread the word about September 17 being the big day and hope everything goes according to plan.
Of course, things rarely do in the soap world, so Carly and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) had better be prepared for more drama!
Over with Sonny and Nina, they’ll tackle a somber farewell challenge in Nixon Falls.
Nina will rummage through a trunk with Sonny, so they might help Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) gather up some reminders of Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) ahead of his funeral.
Nina will break down in tears over how wrong this is, so she may argue that Phyllis shouldn’t have to bury the man she loves. There’ll be a grief discussion that adds to Nina’s guilt since Carly and her children miss Sonny terribly.
That’ll feel wrong to Nina as well, but she’ll keep her mouth shut and concentrate on the future after Sonny dishes out advice.
Sonny will hope to live a full life and perhaps honor Lenny by not wasting a moment. He’ll hope Nina joins him on the journey, so she indeed will – at least for now.
Back in Port Charles, Josslyn will console Trina over Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) secret girlfriend shocker.
Trina will downplay her pain, but Josslyn will see beyond the act and won’t think Trina has to put on a brave face. She’ll invite Trina to be honest about her broken heart, so we’ll see if Trina lets her guard down and admits she’s hurting.
As for Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), GH spoilers say she’ll have to settle on where she’s going to live. Esme will want to stick around Port Charles, so Spencer will think it’s a no-brainer for her to just live with him.
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) won’t agree, so we’ll see some clashing between Spencer and his grandmother.
Although Laura will try to ban Esme and Spencer from living together, they may go against her wishes and do it anyway.
Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) may be asked his opinion, but this is one argument he might want to stay out of if possible.
Spencer’s the kind of guy who usually does what he wants anyway, so we’ll see what happens!
